Incredibly loud party going on over the other side of the street. Looks like they've hired a crap band who are playing in the garden. It's something I would never do as I am too respectful of other people's right to peace and quiet. Am I just a miserable git?
I'm having a Motown party next Saturday at home. It will be inside and outside, weather permitting. It will be loud and it will probably disturb the neighbours, but we'll turn it off (outside) no later than 10. It's once a year, so I think it's ok.
When we do a party I warn the neighbours or invite them - we've had 4 different ones at our current house and 3 of them we would invite over - 1 lot, the woman was a right miserable cow - so we never invited them and they got to listen to us enjoying ourselves late into the night.
Hawkwind are playing in our back garden Wednesday 3.12till 4.26...we have posters up for the locals but owt as far as Carlton might feel the vibe. Apologies in advance....you wingeing gits
Throw buckets of paint over the participants. They'll soon stop playing and won't feel the need to do it again.
Maybe I'm miserable too but I agree people should think of others. If it's so loud you can't hear your own tv for example then it's too loud for me. Also if it goes on past 9/10 at night then it's too much. Bit as I say maybe I'm just grumpy.
As long as it isn't after 11pm there's absolutely nothing you can do, so whether you like it or not it doesn't matter
I'd be fuming but I get that I can be a bit unreasonable when it comes to noise. As long as it stops by 10pm then I wouldn't say anything.
I had a neighbour at a previous house who told me that. He liked a late night party midweek. I bought a huge speaker shoved it up against the wall and left heavy metal on at 8am when i went to work the day after every time. He moved out.
11pm is a fallacy. We had issues with our neighbours and you can report them to environmental services earlier if it is disturbing you - even during the daytime. With it being Sunday, people might need to be up for work early tomorrow or have kids. Whether your local environmental services have any staff left to react to your complaint is a different matter.
I'd agree with those who say it should be over by 22:00 hours. Anything later than that on a Sunday is very inconsiderate. They should also show respect to their neighbours and not have the music so loud that you can't hear your own tele.
I've reported our neighbours 4 times for having House music on so loud it makes things on the walls shake, both to landlords and to the police, there is absolutely nothing they can do in law if it isn't in night hours, which is 11pm till 7am
I take it talking to them is out of the question? Some people just have a horrible attitude towards others
