I'm not sure we need to sign that many players tbh. We already have a good squad for this league we need someone who can tackle in midfield and play abit of football and a winger wouldn't Ming the lad who was at scunny last year but I don't expect us to sign a load of players.
The lad who I think you're referring to who was at Scunny last season has already signed for Bristol City.
Way I see it is we need a few (maybe four max) top top quality players this window- who will all be vying for a place in the starting XI if not immediate starters. Thus it doesn’t seem strange to me that we are taking our time to identify the right players and get the best deals possible. Plus I would imagine that at least some of our transfer plan depends on whether key players (I.e. Tom Bradshaw) stay or go. Additionally, I’m sure the club’s newfound riches mean other clubs are trying to extort us for a few more quid on every deal, so I’m happy that it seems as though the club haven’t just handed out blank cheques- patience is a virtue, and it’d set a poor precedent for the future. So just hold on tight and trust the team. I for one am really glad we haven’t rushed into the market and purchased a silly number of mediocre quality players who will maybe manage 8 starts apiece over the next season before being sold on for little or no profit. Seems quite refreshing to me to be honest.
I don't think we need a big influx of players and 2-4 for me would be great to the squad. Bringing a couple of young uns up also may be good.I think there's are a couple of reasons for me. Firstly in my mind I still think a holding, defensive midfielder with some experience is missing and competition for 1-2 positions (goalie). Also secondly I always think a few new faces freshens things up, creates competition and livens things a bit. Losing 3-4 fringe players, a couple of first team regulars and 2-3 loanees was needed to reduce the squad size. But bringing in a small mix of experience and youth, loanees and perms wouldn't go amiss.
I’m with you on all of the above. I’d be happy with 3 players in whilst keeping hold of his current first team squad. I think we’re good enough up front and defensively. We normally get a cdm in on loan that works out well for us e.g Pearson, Brownhill, Morsy or James that we couldn’t afford to buy and then a couple of attacking midfielders.
I too agree we do not need too many.... 4 at the very most. All outfield players for me, as I think our two first choice keepers will be more than good enough in L1. Maybe 3 signings plus a couple of loans will be more than adequate.
I personally think we will sign 4 at most, Two German Defensive Midfielders with a Striker & Winger both from over sea's. Content with the team if these were signed.
So you think we will sign 4 players , all from over seas, is that a hunch or are you privvy to info ?
Looks like we've signed Josh Olatobosun for the development squad. Previous Clubs include Watford and West Ham United. http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=28537
Just what i think thats all. I have no inside info or anything like that. Just think we deffo need a DM's or 2 & I'm sure our boss knows a few from Germany's 2nd tier. And i would expect a winger to arrive at least.
