I just can’t see us winning promotion this season. Some on here say we have quality already in the side but how many would get into the promotion winning side from last time? Oh and that side went up through the play- offs. I hope they prove me wrong.

    Fair enough.

I can see us winning promotion. My positive post cancels out your negative post and we are back at the status quo, all is well in the world, the ying yang balance has been restored.

I don't mind if we don't win promotion as long as they give it their best shot and we win a few more than we lose for a change.

Both teams that got promoted from this league went up through the play offs.

We've got a better squad than Wigan, who pissed the league last season.

We are in real danger of back to back relegations unless we get 5 or 6 real quality signings in quick. Some of the players in that squad would struggle in league 2.

As it stands we've probably got the best strike partnership in the division.

You think players like Davies, Jackson, Fryers, Pinillos, Moncur would be good enough in league 2?

I'd also add that although he scored goals at Walsall, Bradshaw is nowhere near good enough here.

Last time we got promoted I think I remember that he scored more than Winnall? And since then he's had champ experience. I think he could do extremely well this season. Moore was scoring for fun at Rotherham in League One last season. Be interesting to see how Bradshaw gets on playing alongside Moore in League One rather than playing on his own as a pint-sized target man as he did for the first half of last season.

That's if we keep them both...

I don't know why I'm even bothering to reply to this but here goes as I've got nothing to do after cutting the grass.
Davies....had a great season at this level two years ago.
Jackson...was getting great reviews in the Championship last year from most people on here.
Moncur….player of the season at this level for Colchester plus a bag full of goals and assists.

So yes. I think those three alone would be good enough in League Two not to mention League One as they've already proved they can do it.

One thing that will hopefully help this season is the players all know each other non of this bringing in 15 players all at once again.
As for our chances I'm going in with a open mind. The group is young and made a fight of the championship last season. Not often did we get taken apart last season. If we can make a positive start then i think we could kick on.
Losing becomes a habit so that first month or two could be crucial.

Not sure where you're coming from with Jackson & Moncur. Jackson was our best defender the first half of last season but admittedly struggled a bit after his injury. He's more than good enough a level down I reckon. Moncur has already shone at L1 level with Colchester.
I think we have a good basis to be around the top 6 but I'll reserve proper judgement until the window has shut.

Sorry but I can't see how anyone can speculate as to how well or otherwise our team is
going to perform this season, until such times as the window closes and we can establish which players are going to make up
our final squad. Also before forming any opinion, we surely have to have a clear picture as to the depth and quality of the opposition squads we are likely to come up against. ? With the greatest respect, at this stage, it therefore surely doesn't make any sense to say, we cannot be promoted or we are going to struggle.!

I hope we go up, but I don't think we will. But I didn't think we'd go down last season, til about a month under Morais. We've a lot of lower league players who haven't really made the step up. That doesn't mean we can't gel and have a great season in this league, but a lot of things must change from last year.

Fitness, system, hunger, skill. Our defence, our at many times non existent midfield, and our potency in front of goal. we need to pass it better and quicker, retain the ball better, be fitter and press faster, and be more clinical.

We're asking a hell of a lot from a new manager. If he manages to do that, especially in his first season, we'll have a very good base to build from. But i'm not expecting such, top half and a real push next season feels more realistic, but i'd gladly accept an immediate bounce!

I think this squad is good enough to go back up... If we keep everyone.
My only doubt would be can we cope physically.. have we the scrappers for the ale House league.
