Another 2 goals for Hibs tonight, reckon he would have been a good asset for us in League 1.

Sounds like his goals were decent too.

Let’s remember the opposition though, shocking standard.

Oh absolutely but I just don't think he was given a proper chance with us. I would rather George Moncur have been shown the exit door and retained Mallan but I guess he was pushing for a move back up to Scotland especially after the way he'd been treat. Certainly can't doubt his ability from dead ball situations and it will be interesting to see how he gets on this season in the SPL.

Yeah I’d agree. We had him, Mowatt, McGeehan and Moncur and they can’t all play and, as you say, he was wanting a move back so it made sense he’d be the one to leave.

I do wish he’d have had a chance in league one but I’m confident with the other 3 that they’ll all have decent seasons.

He's scored against a team that wouldn't beat Athersley Rec.

Keeping my fingers crossed they all do, Moncur has a lot to prove and it's now or never for him at BFC as I belive he's in the final year of his contract. If he knuckles down, shows a renewed desire and improved fitness then hopefully the rest of his ability will shine through. Same goes for Mowatt I guess.

I agree the opposition aren't going to be particularly good but let's see how he goes when the SPL starts. I just think we should have tried to retain him for League 1 and got shut off the lazy sod Moncur but you never know, he could prove us all wrong and have a stellar seaaon!

Getting slightly more time on the ball will suit Moncur I reckon. And as he’s essentially playing for a contract, I think he’ll be extra motivated.

Mowatt is a weird one because, in a way, he’s sort of like a new signing? Seems like he’s going to get a chance now though.

Doesn't matter if it is Faroese opposition or Jordan Pickford...unstoppable.

14 goals in a relegated side last time at this level.

Last time at this level, he failed to make any impression in an above average Peterborough side.

The Colchester team got relegated after conceding a phenomenal 99 goals that season. I remember at our away game there thinking how easy it was for Conor and Pearson to waltz around the chunky guy in their midfield and set attacks up at will. Moncur's goal in that game came, as a number of his 12 league goals did in that season, after we were 3-0 up and had basically declared. He wouldn't have got the one at Oakwell either but for Isgrove's near play-off wrecking blunder.
