5 defenders 1 midfielder and 4 strikers. Interesting formation or players just getting minutes fitness wise!

What the heck is it though, a Morais type 433 or is Thiam only a winger ?.
Good to see Walton is still getting his chance, Davies must earn his place if hes going to get it.

Looks like Walton is getting his chance. Would be great if he can take it and we don't need to sign a keeper. Davies has been a safe pair of hands up to last year, but needs competition.

I'd take a guess at 4-2-2-2 with pinillos and Mowatt centre mids, and brown and thiam either side but pushed further on almost making 4 strikers when attacking

Machin was 5-4-1 on his attacking days.

That’s what happens when you sell / release your midfield and don’t replace it.

Are you all forgetting Mel's first year here though, we were ace under him in '90 and Oakwell really became a fortress again. For me it brought back those 1980-81 feelings again for the first time!.
Sadly from the summer of '91 onwards though it all slowly fell apart.

I loved Machin as manager. Just a bunch of honest try their hearts out, make the most of what they had players. To lose out on the playoffs so cruelly after a season of picking up the awfulness of Clarkes mess was particularly tough. But yes, as time went on, we declined and so did he and it was all very inevitable what happened. But what followed him was truly special.

    Described on Twitter as:

Kieffer Moore was on the end of a horrendous foul. The striker was then also given a red for showing his frustration to the foul.

    Hope they've not crocked him!
