It’s the way to go imo . But we need to create the ambiance with a proper bustling market that people wanna visit and trade in . We could do with a few more stores too but that would come if we get the market right, imo our economy is riding on it

Its an interesting question. At what point do you decide enough or the town becomes over saturated with places to eat. Bear in mind the places to eat in the new developments are also going to compete with the same market.
I work in Swindon for half the week. Its a similar sized town, but with a lot more vibrant food culture available than in Barnsley. The big difference though could be the volume of customers, with several large companies in the town and lots of ***** (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays) propping it up midweek.
