I think that the minimum possible price is fine (not great as football in general is overpriced) but I think that fining fans for not knowing if they can attend until the day of the match is absolutely crazy and only serves to put people off. It also creates a headline price that is more expensive than it can actually be in reality. I think it's plain disgusting that there is a £15 difference in price between a 5 year old wanting a ticket from the box office on Friday night and paying at the turnstile on Saturday afternoon. That is simply indefensible

How many would this equate to really, we have a few hundred pay on the day fans, l’m one of them. How long before kick off can you purchase at reduced rates? Advance tickets save the club money in administration costs.

Time we moved into the 21st century.

Haha. I won't be drawn into that kind of carry on. No skeletons in my closet. The club knew full well my opinions and what not before employing me. And I sent the club an email around that period, which has been read by staff in the office, out loud, on numerous occasions whenever I get on my high oss.

I'm going to step away now, because it's nearly time for me to go and have a few beers.

Take care of yourself, and each other.

So by my quick in my head maths it's around 14 games to "break even" as a season ticket holder in the ponty.
As you say that is still a good balance I think. I now sometimes miss one or two mid week games with work but it still works out as good value.

    I lied.

    Just been told:

"There isn't a £15 increase in under 12s tickets on matchdays. They just aren't available at the turnstiles. They are, however, available online and from the Box Office on the day for £7 which is a £2 increase, same as other tickets."

I wasn't drawing you into anything. I had simply just been reading your post from the time because it was (genuinely) the one post in the 2015 thread which mentioned the £2 increase

Can understand this as I have seen arguments before not just at football about children's age and what price bracket they fall into. Don't really want that on a turnstile at 2.45pm.

Dare say its about the going rate for 3rd division teams. I hope I am paying those sorts of prices on the road this season after the prices I have had to endure the previous two seasons.

So there is a £15 difference in price for a 5 year old who buys (or rather who's parent) buys a ticket for the child at the box office on a Friday night and if the same parent tries to buy a ticket for the same child at the turnstile. It's crazy. Absolutely crazy.

No, what is crazy is someone ignoring the rules, ignoring the very simple opportunity to buy from the box office or online, and trying to purchase one at the turnstiles thus spending £15 they needn't have.

Do advance tickets genuinely save the club money in administration costs? The turnstile operators are there regardless

Not everyone lives in a perfect world where they can plan ahead, especially people with children.

No, but sometimes last season it was £36 which I thought was ridiculous. I personally think twenty is plenty, as the saying goes. This year I can get a seat in the Ponty for £23 every match, which is a bit more than I think it should be, but not stupidly more like some matches last season. I would not pay £36 to go to Oakwell, it's too much. I will pay £23.

Agree on both accounts actually... But I think they're charging the maximum they can get away with.. be interesting what other L1 teams charge tho..

Mate, you're just arguing for the sake of it now.

It's Saturday night, I'm guessing like me you're at home, not working. Get on the beers, maybe romance your partner.

Strangely I had figured it was around 4pm. Not sure if I'm more surprised or disappointed to find that it's much later than that. Time to stick some food on I think
