He seems to have been working on it for weeks, for nowt and he doesn't live up here. Fair play to the lad, lets hope he's given the East Stand to do. Leave the West, the paintings from 1909 still haven't fully peeled off yet.
tbf, having recently visited northern Italy, horse burgers are bloody good, if our caterers could serve up anything on a par it'd be a vast improvement and I for one, would be well chuffed.
I've commented on the style - ie, I don't like it - as have plenty of others. That doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the effort he is putting in though. As an ESL-dweller I won't see it anyway, unless he sets to work in that area as well. The other things you mention I won't comment on, seeing as I don't partake much - the occasional cup of tea or a pie, but not every match. While there are plenty of serial complainers on here, and in the ground in general, please don't take constructive comments on art as being complaints. He's doing a great job but I wouldn't want any of it hanging on my wall. I don't like Lowry's work either, or Picasso's. Apparently they were geniuses....
Can't believe the lad is doing it for free. Hats off to him. No way I would do something like for a company with a multi million pound turnover who choose to throw away thousands of pounds a week on wages for ***** players for nowt. No chance.
Its one of those never-ending paintings, like doing the Forth Bridge. There will always be a bit of it still being done. That way, it captures the recurrent Oakwell feeling of "It's like watching paint dry" that we've all come to know and love over the years*. * in between all the good bits, obviously.
