The penny's final dropped with me, old mate, after 50 years of watching the Reds. I accept my ignorance on all footballing matters. This is down to the fact I'm one of life's losers. I'm old, retired, I've only been married once (currently stands at 34 years), have only two children and one granddaughter. I'm the greyest of the grey.
No, no, no. You've won the arguments. As you rightly pointed out, I make the same prediction every year. I've learnt my lesson.
On a more positive note we haven't had the usual 'he's absolute *****' posts when we sign somebody. Granted we haven't signed anyone yet but it is nice to get to this point in the summer without every player we sign or are linked with being written off before they have even kicked a ball in anger.
"That's OK old chum, you are the one in the right. I'll leave it to the footballing experts on here and thank my lucky stars I'm alive. I obviously don't know anything about football in all the years I've been going to Oakwell. Thanks for the clarity"
A response to the constant, incessant moaning and bairning of some on here is not an attempt to take the moral high ground. It's just a reaction to the endless negativity. None of us know how this season will pan out. Most of us are happy to sit back and watch things develop while being mildly optimistic. It's our version of being supporters.

I'll leave it to the experts on this forum to decide how we'll do this season. I'm just happy we have a club.
We agree! I'm happy we have a club. I've loved supporting them all my life. You probably have too. I'd like us to be in the Premier League but it's not critical to why I support them. I've watched them for donkeys years with no realistic expectation of either getting there or getting back. Aspiration is vital to sport but my love of the club isn't defined by what division we're in. I just love following them. Constant running down of everything around the place, players, managers, board just makes the enjoyment that bit less in my eyes. It's supposed to be fun, not a constant funeral.
