Agreed. Most positions we have an abundance of talent for this level. A player to break up play is key. I think also it would be good for that player to have a bit of experience.
Maybe partly. We are allowed to spend 60% (or is it 75% the first year after relegation?) of our revenue. Owners can introduce additional funds into the club via equity injection of a gift.
Don’t believe the owners intend to put in any of their own money to the clubs budget. Has to be run self sufficiently. Although I am curious how they intend to cover the academy costs that Patrick paid each year from his own cash - perhaps that’s why the budget is lower and wages less - to cover the costs PC used to fund year on year? Be interesting to hear at a supporters trust meeting if the owners have any intention of having one.
Ok, but you are... You said you don't know specifics...but initially you shot someone down telling them what they said wasn't true. So what is it? You know, you don't know, you're assuming?
anybody thought that our new gaffer might have wanted to do it this way then add as required .. going by some on here obviously not .. as that saying from dads army "dont panic"
I am not too fussed about if they have a wealth of experience but I would like someone that is a recognised ball winning midfielder and more important for me is someone that is familiar with this high press style of play.
He was asked if the owners told him and he said no, so someone else has told him. He was asked why the budget is smaller and he said he doesn't know specifics, so he knows that it is but not why.
No you have just ignored the context I was replying to. Someone asked why it is smaller. I don't know the answer to why.
Ok, maybe I'm being thick... So you do know with 100% certainty that the budget this season is smaller than the last time we were in League 1? If this is the case, how do you know if no one at the club told you? Not being a dick, just really would love to know how you know.
He said the owners haven't told him. The owners aren't even the ones who set the budget, that's why they employ a CEO, so they don't have to actually run the club. They may (or more likely may not) inject cash which would increase the budget but they don't set it. They undoubtedly sign off on it too but again don't set it. Just because the owners haven't told him doesn't mean someone else at the club hasn't. Gally has been consistent throughout the close season that we'll not have much money to spend. I've always assumed he's spoken to our CEO but I've never actually asked him because I don't need to know how he got hold of the information, I trust him on his word.
Ok... Weird that GG (or someone at the club) would divulge that kind of info to someone who could spill that info on the internet...but ok.
