...... I thought Ganaye and then Stendel had been brought in to so the club could tap in to the European transfer market - bringing young talented players in from abroad. It’s not happened. :-(
Crewe Alexandra.....Gibraltar manager, not one feckin Spaniard in their team nevermind a bleedin Gibraltesairian. Sack im.
He’s got every right to moan, he’s a fan who is entitled to his opinion and I agree with him for once because I’m not happy at all with this board myself. A relegation, two coaches who none of the fans have heard of or who any team wanted and zero signings with a few weeks to go to the new season all in their first 8 months at the helm. They are literally crossing their fingers on this team taking us straight back up at the first time of asking so they don’t have to get out the check book but they failed last season and this season will be no different because League One isn’t the stroll in the park they clearly think it is. If you’re happy with the board’s early running of the club, then more power to you, however, you should go check out what the OGC fans think of them. It isn’t pretty reading...
Let me guess, they're unhappy they sold Seri, Plea and Balotelli is set to leave too? Simple fact is they're not a very big club so their best players leave - like with us!
When someone states that I’m moaning - that doesn’t make it a FACT. I’ll tell thi when I’m moaning. I’m not moaning. Im saying that I expected a few young German and French players to be following Stendel into the club - but that hasn’t happened. So other than Stendels ability to play a certain way I’m at a loss to understand owt else the directors saw in him. It’s not because he’s good looking is it? So it’s a conundrum arrr tell thi - a conundrum !!!
Nudger's not moaning. He's been the most upbeat person on this board since the takeover. He's just beginning to realise that what he thought was going to happen actually isn't
Aye, bit fickle those Nice fans. Not so long ago they were relegated to the third tier for dodgy financial dealings. Rivere got them back on their feet in 2012 and moved them to a new stadium but since the Lee/Conway takeover they've finished 3rd, their highest position since finishing 2nd in 1974. They've played champions league football for the first time since 1960 (European Cup), they've financed a state of the art academy that would rival any in this country and signed the likes of Ballotelli & Sneijder. They've also managed to take Vieria from the billionaire Man City world football domination set up. All this on sometimes 8,000 home crowds.... they owt to think on those Nice fans, but l supposed its just the few on twitter responding to Chien's tweets and not the general view.
Chuff me. This post sums up everything wrong with this board. It's not the negativity that's the problem - it's the constant perception that everything is negative which then leads to white knighting by the disciples, or bleating by the beige posters.
After listening to Andreas Winkler's interview, your prediction could be simply delayed rather than wrong. He seemed to intimate bringing in German players might take longer than the new coaching staff had in this transfer window, so UK based players would probably be more realistic targets. Paul Heckingbottom mentioned something along similar lines last year, too, with regards to signing players from the continent. There may well be such players arriving at the club in the future transfer windows of January & next Summer. Don't be too quick to write off your prediction, old mate.
It did sound like Winkler was saying that the good, young German players were already contracted for the season already. Typical German efficiency
I must be honest, I thought the point of going for a French CEO/German coaching team would lead to some continental talent coming on board. The Thing I'm most surprised about though is that the new owners haven't utilised the link with Nice to give some of their more promising youngsters game time, like the Watford guys did with Udinese...
Actually, they’re pissed with the board not putting their hands in their pockets and investing. You know, the exact same as us... Fair enough, we might have a signing incoming but leaving it so late is simply baffling, more so for the fact that this player or any other signing we may get for that matter, didn’t go on the training trip to Hungary meaning no opportunity to gel and get in valuable experience with his/their new teammates. Decisions so far from this board have been odd to say the least and they’ve got a hell of a way to convince me that they’re doing what’s best for the club.
