Well done Reds, a signing that, on paper at least, ticks the boxes in terms of what we were obviously lacking. I'd still like to see a bit of manouevering with one or two moved on, an experienced midfielder brought in, at least one winger and maybe another forward. As some say though, a lot depends on what system we're planning to play. You'd imagine we'll get an indication in the friendly tomorrow as you usually see teams put out the line-up they're planning to go with in the final friendly as a last trial run.
Looking at his highlights reel, he's going to need to adjust to having less time and space in League One - having watched some Dutch footy last season, its certainly a gentler pace. The right type of signing for sure though.
Makes the decision to let Hammill leave ridiculous in my opinion. Ah well, have to hope some leaders emerge from within a younger group - like Hourihane, Roberts and others did with Hecky's batch and like they seem to have done with England this summer.
A completely different role, really? Surely both roles includes things such as, getting info to players, team selection, tactics, so not a completely different role at all. My point is, our HC has input/influence in the signing of players
A completely different role in terms of recruitment at least though. A manager would draw up a list of potential transfer targets he wants. A head coach will be given a group of players to work with.
In today's Chronicle it says todays signing is the beginning of what the Club hopes is a productive final fortnight of the transfer window. Its understood the Head coach wants at least one more signing to challenge Hedges and Isgrove. They had hoped to bring in some players from Germany, but adhering to the 20 to 25 age threshold has made that difficult so he feels it might be best to get English players in at this stage. There will be a 16 page pull out in next weeks edition and it will contain exclusive interviews with the coaches and players. There will also be a piece on each Club we will come up against in the upcoming season.
Worrying thing is that they believe we already have a strong squad. Right now I'd celebrate news of Tom Kennedy rejoining instead of enduring either of the left backs we currently have.
Yep. Left back does seem a problem. That must mean the whole team is rubbish then. I take it, as you reckon most of them aren't good enough for League Two, you're the one who voted we'd get relegated in the poll the other day?
I didn't vote in any pole thanks very much. But if you truely believe players like Jackson, Davies, Fryers and Moncur are anywhere near good enough even for this level it's time to start going to watch the rugby league because football isn't for you.
3 of those clearly are good enough as proven in their performances at championship level, or recently in L1. Fryers I’m not sold on yet. Forget rugby league, you should stick to union snowflake.
I can't believe you have included Jackson in that list. He had a great season last year and would have walked the player if the year if he hadn't missed a large portion with iniury
We must be changing our formation me things... Can't see us playing 442.. too many attcking mids.. unless we're selling.. If Stendal is going for a high energy, high pressing game I suspect he will go 3-5-2. That said we must have pace in the back three.
Honestly, and this takes some serious doing, I think you talk the most ***** out of everyone on this board.
