Probably because we played a better team from a higher league.

Good performance. Parts of our play were sloppy at times, but there's something to
build on. Mowatt unlucky not to score with a screamer. Impressed with Kenny on his debut.
Moore needs to sharpen up on his finishing. Other than that a creditable all round performance.

We were against a team in the league above, who were in the Premiership 2 years ago.

1-1 is nothing to be moaning about.

Yes was a positive performance. Thought we were the better team all round. Just a bit rusty up top. Cavare and Pinillos were good. Cavare in particular should be head and shoulders above most in L1. Bloke is a beast when he charges forward.

I like Cavare but he really needs to work on his crossing.

He is a beast going forward, and he tracks back well too when out of position. Only problem is he can't cross a ball and he really needs to work on that.

Thought Thiam did well on Left Wing - did well there against WBA too.

Quite correct the Oakwell pitch has a 15" slope between the SW and NE corners.

Cavare needs to be careful with what he does when he concedes a corner, throw in or free kick.
I noticed that on several occasions in today's game, he either rolled or kicked the ball away from
the Hull player who was trying to retrieve the ball. I think the Ref was lenient with him because it was a friendly.
But when the real thing gets under way, the officials might not be so understanding and he could pick up unnecessary bookings for his actions that could cost us dear.

Did Hull put out their best team then, and if they did then fair enough. I accept the loss to West Brom because by all accounts, Daz Moore picked a strong team and as I said on here during the week, they were a Prem team only last season.
Remember though, Hull weren't exactly great themselves in the Champship last season but it still didn't come as a surprise when I heard they had made it 1-1 today.
