Lindsay starts for me, no preference whether that's before Jackson or Pinnock. But would agree with the rest.

Would have Lindsey and Pinnock at CB.

Thiam upfront next to Moore and Isgrove/Hedges on the wings.

Bradshaw & Moore have surely got to be our front two , assuming we are going with a two up front, & Davies in goal for me

I thought Davies looked more secure than Walton the other night and I’m not sure Adebejayo is ready yet so I’d go with Bradshaw.

    Nearly agree.

Would have Davies in the nets, Bradshaw up front instead of Adeboyejo and Lindsay in the defence for either of those 2, possibly Jackson.

Really enjoyed that game today, but its obvious that the team needs time to gel and for the coach to get his ideas tuned til they are natural.

I like Moore and I like Bradshaw. But they didn't link well at all. And while Moore is a massive handful, it doesn't really matter if you continue to waste 8-9 chances without hitting the target. Some half chances, but most with time to hit the net and he didn't manage it once.

Very impressed with Dougall. Very impressed.

Some positive points and spells of good energy, but very concerned where the goals might come for if the main aim is Moore and Bradshaw if they are still here.

Think Davies could have done a lot better for their goal. Not seen much of Adebejayo but offered a lot more today than Bradshaw did, even though he played on the wing.

That's how I would go. Play Davies or get shut because he will be earning too much to bench warm. Lindsay was players player of the year. Bradshaw is wanted by championship clubs.

We still look iffy at full back and on the wing.

I’d possibly agree. I think our full backs should be okay at league 1 level though. With the wing, I think Isgrove and Hedges would be good in league 1 but they both seem quite injury prone and after those 2, we don’t really have any natural wingers apart from Thiam so I would say that’s probably a strength in depth issue. Hopefully we’ll get one in this week.

I think it’s evident from the friendlies we’ve played this week that we have a squad that can compete in League 1.
It has also struck me that we create our own problems a lot of the time. Too much pointless slow paced passing across the back which ultimately ends up with a hoof when one of the players comes under the slightest pressure.
On the few occasions a defender passed it short into midfield the recipient invariably returned it straight back and so the cycle continued.
Do we have a midfielder good enough to turn and look forward?

I would generally agree with your second line. However, I was quite impressed with some of our passing today, there were some good moves I thought.

Regarding midfielders turning and going forward, I think our wingers will all be able to turn and run at full backs in league 1. And from central, I must say that after today’s showing, Mowatt could definitely turn and pick a pass/take a player on. He looked like a completely different player to what I’ve seen before. Hopefully it wasn’t a flash in the pan performance.

Agree we look to try and pass it out too often, but I think that will come as the players adapt more to it. Mowatt regularly dropped deep today and got the passes forward. Both Mowatt and Dougall looked to set attacks up, and when Moncur came on he picked the ball up and drove forward.

Really positive showing today from majority of the lads. Still very very early days.

We still have a big squad and as every year the team that starts the season dramatically changes by the end. After the 2 friendlies I've seen I would go

    Davies
    Cavare Jackson Lyndsay Pinnilos
    Mowatt Dougall
One of Potts Mcgheehan or Moncur
    Thiam Moore Adebejyo

These can play or interchange between 442, 451, 433 it needs the additional midfielder for the pressing game.

Isgrove and Pinnock were close to getting in for me but Bradshaw hasn't looked dangerous enough.

How bad was Hedges injury? I’m hoping he can kick on this season but he’s turning into a bit of a sick note.

I reckon that Daniel will start with the same XI that started today, if all are fit, which might be a big 'if' for Hedges.

There's a couple of positions I'd quibble with and I'm left cold by Pinillos defensively but generally I couldn't really grumble if that was the team.

Personally, of the three performances on the right I've seen over the last two games I'd say Victor's was better than the other two but it's a small sample size. And to be honest, as long as Moncur is nailed to the bench or in the stand with his missus's shoes then Daniel will do for me.
