....... we have to because we wernt able to secure a permanent deal for that particular position. We are told no player to sign over 25 years old - obviously this is so we bring in and develop OUR OWN young players. And if that’s the case then I wonder if the policy also includes no loan signings i.e. not to develop players that are not our own.
here you go Nudge ... 01924 377011. Your nearest branch of the Samaritans, you so desperately need them.
Personally i'd rather we didn't bring in loans. Regardless of what the owners' visions are for the club I think it'd be good to build a core of our own and develop them to retain as much as possible (rather than sell on). Whilst we've heavily relied on and had some great loanees over the years, we seem to be back at square one every season when they depart, then the lottery starts again. If obviously we can't get the players we need on permanents then fair enough, though. No point cutting our nose off to spite our face.
I’d rather we don’t rely on loans like we have done in the past few years. However 1 or 2 really quality (for League 1) loans would be good. They should be stand out players though, better than what we already have. A striker and a winger for me. Last few years we’ve had bang average loans (plus the odd quality one) just plugging spaces in the squad.
5 or 6 goalkeepers and 7 wingers. In all seriousness though, I think we will bring in a winger and possibly striker.
On that showing (so a very fleeting view) the areas i'd consider strengthening are up front (and if that meant Moore or Bradhsaw to leave, I'd do so), left back, and probably goalkeeper. The rest I think we're ok with. Maybe a winger but I reckon he'll change to wing backs if he can get a left back who has more mobility.
Im convinced that due to the size of our squad that bringing in more players other than a keeper would in fact have a negative impact on the team. If we are bringing players in then move some on first. Players like Potts, Mcgheehan, Pinnock, Hedges, Fryers, McCarthy, Moncur, Isgrove, Bird, Brown, motley henry are not going to be regular starters and will become frustrated at the lack of game time but for a league 1 team that's a strong bench and some not even making the match day squad. We know they have to earn the right to play but keeping that lot happy when they are not earning life changing money I'm sure they will want to move and play somewhere else rather than sit in the stands. The squad is more than flexible enough to play multiple formation and strong enough to get promoted so adding 4 to 5 players to that list doesn't make much sense especially bringing in loan players, I'd rather get promoted this time with our own. Douglass though was a signing in a position that we really needed which shows the club no what they are doing.
If Hedges and Isgrove aren't going to be regular starters, who's going to be playing on the wings? Judging by the last 2 games it looks like Stendel is going with 4-4-2, initially at least.
Based on yesterday Thiam and Adebejo with the possibility of Bradshaw dropping out and a attacking midfielder coming in. If he is playing the pressing style are formations as necessary or the players just need to be more flexible.

If it's based on yesterday, he started with Hedges on the wing, Adeboyejo was a sub brought on when Hedges was injured. On Tuesday Isgrove started the game. Adeboyejo hasn't been in the starting line-up in either of the final two pre-season games when Stendel has been finalising his team.
You are right but I can't see hedges and Isgrove holding a regular position in the team due to injuries, form, season long fitness and Thiam and Adebejyo look physically stronger and more suited to the pressing style of play. It's going to be interesting watching it develop again.
I heard a whisper yesterday that we’re after loaning a 18 year old right winger from Fulham called Sessegnon, good with both feet, chips in with goals and can play wingback at youth level, he’s Ryan’s twin brother can’t remember his Christian name it’s something daft.
