Hardly any anymore due to lack of ambition being shown. Live in Lincoln and will only start back when the ambition is shown again to want to be more than little ole Barnsley, the board has the means now after all regardless of their remit. Stopped going not long after the fire-sale of jan 2017. If I’m going to spend my hard earned I want to see ambition being shown and be entertained again. Fickle? Probably. It’s an entertainment business, time for BFC to entertain again.
I always want them to do well regardless of attendance mind.

Started in 1977, managed most home games. Went to most games home and away through most of the 90’s. Moved to Scotland 10 years ago and kept my season ticket. This is the first year in a long time I’ve not renewed.

First went when I was 6 (36 years ago in 1982). Had season ticket from around 1984 to 1992, then I went to college for 5 years so got a Saturday job and had to give season ticket up. Got my season ticket back in 1997 after finishing my degree and getting a job mon-fri so could pack stacking shelves on Saturdays in! Had it since, I always think the club must think I’m a glory fan as got my current season ticket first time in premier season

Used to go to about 8-10 away games before I had kids, but now hardly any.......apart from the glory games like play offs or local derbies

If you’re a fan you’re a fan for life, whether you can get to 1 game or all the lot. I can’t stand listening to it on the radio, it’s too nerve racking- worse than actually being there.

I know where you're coming from with this and I've seen people attempt to devalue your opinion. It's happened to me as well. Whenever there's a debate about doing more for the pay on the door fan, there's always someone who scoffs at my current contribution to the club. 38 seasons a regular, but a handful of games per season for the last 6.

Where outside of Waddington? Do you go to all/most home games?

I go to every home game, league and cup, but miss a handful of away games if I'm lucky.

I don't find the question intrusive or ponited. The first game I can recall was Barnsley 4 Bristol Cits 7 in the late 50s.
I went to most home games in the 60s, apart from night matches when I was young. My first away game was a 3rd round F.A. cup tie in (I think) 1964, Scunthorpe 2 Barnsley 2. My dad bought my first season ticket in 1969 after The Reds won promotion from the 4th division having been undefeated at home all season.
Since 1970 I've lived away from Yorkshire.
I had a long gap of not buying season tickets (though still going to some games). I started season tickets again in 1997 for the Premiership year, buying one for me and my two daughters (born in Peterborough and Basingstoke respectively). I lived in Southampton at the time so it was a 444 mile round trip to home games. Obviously, because of work I could only do Saturday matches. At least I was able to see The Reds first Premiership game and their first Premiership away game/win at Crystal Palace on the following Tuesday.
My two sons became season ticket holders with me in the 2000s. So I'm reponsible for perverting the future of four children who have no connection with Barnsley !
I moved to work in Geneva and lived just across the border in France from 2007. Didn't seem a lot of point in tenewing for 2007/2008.
Came back to U. K. in August 2017 so bought season tickets for me and my son who was still living at home.
I lived in South Yorkshire for my first 17 years, never in Barnsley (I went to Holgate GS for one year 1963-1964).
I find it sad that many posters to this site find a need to slag off others/accuse them of various things. We're all Reds fans surely. We all have differences of opinions about players/tactics/the club's ambition. But, hey, that's life, I guess.
But, then again, maybe it's just because I'm old..

Brant Rd area, I struggle to get to a lot of home games due to work, but because I work all over the country, tend to go to more away games a season

    For the record Dragon Tyke...

Post wasn't intented as a witchhunt in any way, just curious of the makeup of the boards contributors, especially how many international followers we get and if they ever get to any games.. There was obviously no requirement to either read or comment on the thread, but it's good when pople do as like in your case, you've added to the thread that you've been following the reds since 1960 (well before my time ish haha). So no motive apart from pure discussion for people to join in should they wish, regardless how they follow the club. Everyone's comments are equal in my eyes. I also made it an anonymous poll for the exact reason that I didn't want it to look like anything other than I have described. So lighten up fella.

Bought my first season ticket in 1967 and despite spending probably twenty years overseas in the intervening period, and only managing to watch 2 or 3 games on leave, considered I was supporting the club financially at least. Since I’ve been back in Europe, I’ve missed few home matches, and managed the odd away match if I can get a decent ticket. I stopped going to away games due to our away supporters not being able to sit down!! I’m too old to bob up and down.

Your life mirrors mine in many ways, from the living away from Barnsley point of view and longevity of support. You have a couple of years on me in that respect though, my first exposure being around 1961/62, but I was aware of that freak home defeat to Bristol City. Didn't one player score all four goals for us - Lol Chappell at guess, without looking it up?
The Scunthorpe away FA Cup game was also my first awayday. What an electric atmosphere that was at the Old Show Ground! We were a division below them in those days but took them back for a replay and then knocked them out. I was stationed on top of one of the corner flag concrete shelters for a lot of the game (I think!). We also had these at Oakwell of course, for the St Johns Ambulance people to shelter in.

Can't recall scorers in the 4-7 game - but I do remember Jackie Swindells scoring for The Reds when we turned them over 7-3 a few years later: they also beat us 4-2 at Oakwell in between, big John Atyeo was their centre forward that day.
As you say, it was a great night at Oakwell for the Scunthorpe replay. If I remember correctly there were about 20,000 in Oakwell because the winner had been drawn at home to Manchester United in the 4th round draw on Monday lunchtime. The Reds won the replay 3-2 to go through and lose 0-4 against Man Utd in front of 38,000 fans at Oakwell - now that was a case of "a packed Oakwell" !
