It is being reported this morning on Sky sports that Alfie is on the verge of signing for Fulham for £15 million initially & could rise to £20 million , therefore , given that in the same item it says we sold for £5 million, then we would be in line for 15% which is £1.5 million , a nice return but not as much some of our fans have been speculating that we would receive.
Even if true we can't complain can we. We would also get a % of the add one. Plus get a % if Kayden Jackson goes to Ipswich before window shuts.
States medical and contract discussions today. They aren't far wrong with these things. How accurate the deal value is though i dont know. I suspect given the numbers banded by West Ham and Burnley who failed to land him that it would be nearer the 20M mark. I think Sky though seem to be more in the know than many reporting channels on football matters.
Told by people who'd have a better idea than most. Could be add-ons that might have taken it to £5m, I guess.
So if the press/ media reports are correct and Swansea receive £15m upfront, we should then receive our agreed sell-on fee upfront and then receive the add-ons as they occur? Or is that too logical?
I'm guessing the £15M isn't necessarily up front, i.e. Paid in one go. It can still be paid over time i.e. 5M per year. The additional value i.e. the £5M would then come from performance KPI's i.e. Stay in the Prem, Finish Top half etc etc
I'm sure we won't find out the details. It won't be on the bosses' priority list to let the fans know the figures. They don't ask me how much I earn..... (peanuts!)
Now we have dropped a league I am sure we will spend it , it could well be spent on players wages & running costs etc being that income will be well down on last year. We have a big squad mainly signed on championship contracts & wages.
We will get it when Swansea get it off Fulham. I would imagine if Fulham pay 5 million a season for the next three seasons, we will get 15% of five million for the next three seasons. That's if it is 15% in the contract.
