Interesting how people see things differently. For my part I totally struggle to see much of anything in Brad Potts. But he's a professional footballer playing at a reasonable level so he must have something.

Not sure I said that - I’m assuming he is the preferred option based on pre-season

I don't boo as it's futile- players aren't bothered. I think it's acceptable for others to do it.

What's not justifiable is for someone to be in the top 1% of earners in the country and not be held accountable for their performances.

You obviously hold the opinion that footballers don't care about how they've performed.

I care about how I've done today , yesterday, and before. I suspect you would be the same.

Footballer are of course more accountable than 99% of the rest of us.

If they don't perform, they don't get to play.

I do agree though, in that lots of them don't seem to care enough to be too bothered whether they play or not. Cos they get paid anyway.

Sadly the thread we are contributing to merely corroborates the sad truth that we are obsessed with the football bug.

But I would never boo a BFC player.

    Would you?

Plenty of players continue to play even after a string of bad performances.

Last time I booed was altrincham but that was aimed at the team as a whole and the manager.

I would have joined you at the final whistle on that one.

May even have supplied a dozen eggs for splattering the coach windows......

Am I alone in noticing Mamadou blowing out of his ar$e again after ten minutes on Saturday. And showing no meaningful improvement over last season?

Didn’t say that either - I said make room for Potts by not playing 2 wingers.

Of anyone who has seen the most recent friendlies, yes, I would have thought you’re alone.

Im not sure hes even a footballer, I reckon weve been had ere. A kind of George Weah's brother situation at Southampton. Difference is, they realised after 15 minutes.

Of the 3 wide men that played in the last 2 friendlies (Hedges albeit very briefly), he looked by far the best option.
That in itself isn’t saying much but I thought he looked quite sharp, produced some moments of skill, and put several dangerous crosses in.
There may be some question marks against his defensive qualities but if we’re going into a poor League 1 with a defensive mindset then we’re starting off on the wrong foot.

That’s fine - a lone striker is used to being on their own
