I was at that leeds match too.
That season i watched barnsley, everton, frickley and leeds: leeds just the once and never again.
My dad bless him is/was a football fan.
A scouse exile in barnsley who attended his last ever barnsley match in 1982 when i decided i wanted to go with my mates instead of with him.

    That's a coincidence!

My dad grew up in Mapplewell, pretty much next door to the Rimmingtons. (Norman actually trained my dad at the pit in the machine room).
My dad's favourite player was George Robledo. My dad gave it up & became a professional wrestler & he made enough money to at first rent & then buy a hotel in Blackpool. (His first landlord was Owen Oyston). My Dad in the 60's used to watch Blackpool & Preston & saw Alan Ball play his first & last games for Blackpool. They moved back to Barnsley in the mid 60's though, hence me growing up in Barnsley (although I was born in Blackpool). he kept watching them till about 10 years ago. His deafness has made him quite reclusive & he can't walk far. The wrestling fecked his body up. He's 82 next week. Would love to go to one more match with him, but I'm not sure he'd be up for it,

    Dave Shade.
He trained with Brian Glover (Leon Arras), at Brian's dad's gym at the Junction.
Also wrestled David Prowse (Green Cross Code man & Darth Vader).

Top Man JP... I seriously hope you get to go to a game with him again, have you thought about asking the club if they might help you out , perhaps a seat in the disabled stand in the corner between the east stand and the ponty end.

That is a great idea, although my dad is pretty stubborn & refuses to even apply for a disabled badge for his motor!
Between me & my mates we could get him down. He can walk, just not too far. It's the deafness tbh that is the thing that frustrates him the most.

he has his sight though and that's the most important thing at a game innit. Shame he won't get a blue badge , as you would be able to park up close to the disabled stand then.... will he use a zimmer or a wheel chair , or is he as stubborn as my Mother in law she refuses them too despite her troubles at 84

No, no chance of a zimmer, or wheelchair. He does use sticks though.
