Fine if they state that the currency must be local but they don't. Nor do they allow payment in Sterling even if one has the facility to do so Also the static FX rate is fair argument but not when they are offering a rate way lower than the £ is ever likely to fall against the Euro - 0.947 (even taking into account Brexit).

I'm not buying this "it's not about the money, it's only six quid". If you're a Yorkshireman, it's ALWAYS about the money.

And spare a thought for the poor devil at the other end of the line. He's just had to handle a massive increase in Sheff Weds subscribers this season. All arguing about their six quid.

Why not open a local bank account, put enough money in to cover subscription, and pay using that.

That doesn't alter the fact that you are paying too many Euros.

??? Read my posts again. I live in Italy BUT I still have a UK bank account where my pension is paid in and often pay bills e.g. UK credit card with my UK debit card and purchase stuff ordered on UK Amazon, plane tickets etc using my UK debit card/Debit card. Paypal accept UK Credit/debit cards and also my Italian credit debit cards. Many UK retailers accept UK debit and credit cards as well as Euro card payments. Basically EFL (or whoever they have outsourced this to) are pretty backwards in this.

You have to pay with foreign currency from a foreign bank account to prove you are living abroad. Those living abroad can watch games on Saturday afternoons using ifollow. Those living in England can't. It's not backwards, it's to give you access to content that it is illegal to broadcast in the UK. And you're paying just an extra 6 quid for that extra content.

Edit - well you're not paying the extra six quid you're legally challenging them over it

I get all that Jay but this is their latest response and my reply .... My gripe is NOT the money it is the fact that they are breaching the regs by stating it is £110 when it is clearly NOT. therefore the price IS misleading.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting iFollow support.

Unfortunately the prices are set prices that cannot be changed unfortunately.

As my colleague had explained that you need to use your international billing and bank details to purchase.

    regards,

    Hello

With respect you have not answered the complaint.

The price stated on the website is £110 . Nowhere does it state that payment must be in local currency. On the contrary, 4.5 T&C states payment MUST be in pounds.

I have a UK bank account and so have the ability to pay in sterling. But your system is preventing me from doing so. Nor is the FX conversion current rates. That in itself is not an issue but the fact you do not display the rate used is especially as it is a very poor rate of exchange.

I fully expect you should amend the website at the earliest possible time to remove the reference to £110 since the product is not actually available at that price .You are therefore in breach of the following regulations (BP 2 being the relevant breach). Failure to do so may result in further action.

I don't need to re read your post, jay gave you the answer as to why you need a local bank account.
