Shrewsbury midfielder. Were linked with him apparently. Loan move with a view to a permanent.

Odd one if that's true, wonder why it would be a loan to start with the window still open.

Loaning a player from the same league, when we are in league one (can understand at championship level) is a odd rumour. If us top of the league and one of the favourites for automatic promotion want him, why would Shrewsbury who also want promotion loan him us, to strength a rival team? Could understand if they were selling, but a loan doesn't make sense.

I’m wondering with us signing Styles from January and being linked with Morris, does the coaching staff see Potts more of a winger than central midfielder ?

Still feel we’re light out wide.

This is an old rumour from about 3 weeks ago. Not saying it isn’t true but just seems strange

Hope we don’t overload with midfielders again

Its in todays local press that he is going out on loan to a fellow league 1 team but it doesn't mention who.

He’s a ‘spoiler’ type midfield. Proper defensive midfielder who can cover as CB.

Don’t see why would sign him unless it is cover for KD. In which case could see at least one midfield going out on loan. Bird most likely. Would be further strengthening of the squad.

Still seems like someone’s left the CM filter on the spreadsheet! Only position I think we’re a bit short on is genuine winger, although looks like Thiam and Potts are filling those slots.

Actually under the new transfer rules it might not be that odd because if a deal cannot be completed for what ever reason by 5 pm on thurs , then clubs are now allowed to set up a deal where a player can be signed on loan with a binding agreement to sign permanent in january , this is allowed up to the end of august when the loan period ends.

We have no real cover for defensive midfield...

We need another defensive midfielder as an option, but we’re overloaded with attacking ones. Hopefully it doesn’t spell the end of Potts.

I could see Moncur leaving if this is the case.

We don't even have any unreal cover for defensive midfield! In fact, did we even have any defensive midfield a fortnight ago?!

I have no idea whether he's defensive or not. In fact, having never seen him play I can't even confirm whether he's actually real or unreal.

He’s slightly more real than Richard Kell and Kevin Dixon.

    Look at Kevin’s dixons stats

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Dixon_(footballer,_born_1980)

His agent must be an absolute genius to bank him a 6 year career as a professional footballer having played only 270 more minutes in first team games than shirley from the club shop.

I saw him once. He looked really good. He was dropped for the next match & then loaned out.
I think cover for KD is a good idea. That type of midfielder will pick up bookings & we need to be able to rest him for cup games.
Maybe this dude is the answer? Stendel seems to be getting the best out of players that have failed before, like Thiam, but seems to have little time for Moncur, who I wouldn't be surprised to see leave us. I don't think the bloke has the application or fitness for the new regime. He's a very decent player for 20 minutes.

We need to sign Hammill back on. So what he's 30... he loves the club, lives local and still unattached. Bring him back home.

I don’t see why it would impact Potts, he played more right midfield/attacking midfield on Saturday and scored, got an assist and provided the cross for the third goal.

I agree with Moncur though. Particularly if Styles does return from Bury in January, I could see Moncur leaving then.
