At Bradford. Good following. Would love it people kept it up for the full season. But it will die off.
Results are the main factor, obviously longer trips and weather all come into play too. As does family life.
We need to keep momentum. Like the Clarke promotion year. 5 wins on the trot. MOTD cameras there for the 6th gave vs Torquay scuppered us briefly.
The further the distance the less people will go. Not sure why that is for some. Obviously a lot can’t make it and have other commitments but some just seem to get a nose bleed when heading out of Yorkshire. Come on let’s have some huge followings this season. Let’s sell out when we have Plymouth away.. that’s a place I love going to.
Spot on. I'm working Saturday so can't make it but planned to go to longer trips, Charlton in October for example.
Costs more to travel further and it’s longer travel time. Both of which some don’t want to/can’t commit to
Should have some great long distance sell outs this season. If we are where we expect to be in the league we should sell out Luton on new years day and Bristol Rovers last match.
Remember '81 when clubs often told us our away following was one of the best, if not the best they had seen at their place that season. It also helps of course if we're going through a promotion challenging season!.
It may have something to do with the further you go the more it costs , just a thought . Bradford away fuel = £10 , Plymouth away fuel = £80 , plus all other costs go up the longer & further you are away.
£20 on bus with courthouse. £25 at most. Can’t moan at that going all that way. Ticket prices don’t go up the further you travel.
Takes a lot longer on the coach and I wouldn't want to spend that long a coach full of pissed up fellas with a toilet that will be full 20 mins into the journey. Not to mention the horrible smell.
Maybe we will do what that Rotherham pub did and put on a chartered flight to Plymouth, as I can see people taking up the offer being popular. Without the running away with the money and it never happening bit obviously.
We tend to take good followings in League One anyway, usually due to the novelty of playing different teams, new grounds or ones we haven't visited for ages, plus there always seems to be a good selection of destinations to visit (more towns or seaside clubs rather than all city based clubs in the bl00dy Midlands). If we start doing well, we'll take great numbers I would imagine. It's more of a Southern based division this year than before, which will affect numbers, but I'd expect sell outs at Scunny, Fleetwood, Blackpool, Donny, Luton (only get about 800 now I think), Walsall, Wimbledon (again, 800ish) and perhaps Sunderland if we're flying high. Decent followings to Charlton, Peterborough and Coventry. The rest are a right trek so fair play to those travelling.
They do , do you think a ticket to Bradford & a ticket to Plymouth would be the same ? I take my two grandkids so if we went on the bus it would be 3 x £25 to Plymouth but all three of us can go in the car for £10 to Bradford , so there is a lot of difference
