Sounds like Jason McCarthy could be leaving Barnsley on loan/permanent

Don’t know. Going off what winkler said in news conference with Andy Giddins this morning. It could also mean cavare. 1 or the other

Find it a bit strange to let McCarthy go as it will leave us with just Williams as cover. He seems like a proper talent, but has only 9 games for a relegated Bury side to his name. At some point Cavare will get injured, or suspended (he seems like a bit of a hot head), and that will be McCarthy's chance to impress and stake his claim for a place in the starting line up.

I’d be very surprised if they let McCarthy go without bringing cover in

I've been chatting with some Bury fans who say they've already got four right backs, so don't really understand why they'd need another one.

I've always thought McCarthy looked ok when he's played And was in and out of the team without really getting a chance but he's been like that under 3 managers now....

Linked well with Hammill at the start of last season but was quite suspect defensively I thought, never seemed to stop a cross or cover that well to say he apparently can play centre back too.

I’m not desperate for him to leave, I think he’d be ok at this level, but if Cavare is first choice and we’ve signed a young replacement then there’s no point in holding him back to not play

Maybe he isn't suited to the pressing / swift attacking football which we are playing / planning to play?

Maybe so, I cant comment as I do not know for sure.

Being quick doesn't necessarily mean you fit the team tactics and style, maybe coaches do not see him in that style?

However if its a loan, that suggests he may still have a future with us.

It is still only a rumour too at this stage, so lets wait and see what the next 4 hours bring.
