OK Not being sure I will have sufficient bandwidth here in rural Italy someone suggested I try before committing to full year subscription, So.… I just bought a match day pass 6.00 euros and got an email confirming purchase. I then saw something about some matches would not be available so checked the list and saw this...

    Next match 11 Aug 2018 15:00 (UK)
    Bradford City v Barnsley

There is not a match pass available for this match.

So how have they sold me a match day pass for a match that is "not available"?

The commentary is still available so you will get that. The video is not available so you won't be able to watch. It sucks that it's the same price despite only being able to access the audio for this particular match but iFollow is a pretty sucky company.

SH''T!! The whole point of the matchday pass was that I could test my bandwidth before deciding whether to shell out 130 euro for the year. I suspect the refund or cancellation of the payment will not be forthcoming then (there will probably be some small print they will point to)

I already have a beef with them about that they state on the main pages it is £110 and elsewhere state that it is 130 euros ( the equivalent). Not unless they do the FX at an airport departure lounge using Moneycorps it isn't!!! The rate is outrageous and so the £110 is basically a lie. The support team, is based in the sub-continent I think, given the chat greeting one morning was "good evening" and the support guys are Asian. I think the whole operation is outsourced by the EFL to some fly-by-night organisation. Ho-hum. I just like to think that BFC do at least get some kick-back from the subscriptions.

Starting to wonder if it is worth bothering. How many other matches are 'not available on the 130 euro package I wonder?

If you live outside of the UK I think you'll be able to watch a live stream of tomorrows game at iFollow. I can't find the game listed for broadcast on any TV-channel, so there is no reason it won't be available for stream on iFollow. To my understanding, it's only when it's shown on TV it's not available to stream through iFollow.

I had Barnsley Player and later iFollow for several years, as I live in Germany part of the time. After a series of technical problems and financial "irregularites", including them reinstating a direct debit that I'd cancelled, I finally cancelled it after the end of last season.

For me, it just didn't work on match days. Highlights and full match replays worked fine on my 30Mb connection in Germany, but live games were unusable due to constant buffering and bandwidth issues. The players looked like red and white blobs moving about on a green background in a computer game on a Sinclair Spectrum. There was no visible ball. I know some enjoy it, and they may have improved it this season, but it was obvious to me that on match days their server was seriously overloaded. I can't see me renewing any time soon.

It works superbly at my end, and I don't have the quickest connection available.

OK thanks. reading T&Cs again there is no criteria stated that this match may fit in to NOT be streamed live, as you say it is not on any TV Channel anywhere , the lists of broadcast matches is not available either. However I have read it again and it simply says 'match pass' not available NOT the match is not available. However, they have sold me one so I am waiting for them to clarify. I can't see how/why they would / could block the video for a 6 euro matchday pass and allow the video for the 130 euro annual pass. let me know if you get a video stream tomorrow.

Weird how for virtually the same price ( 10.99 euro pm) I get Netflix in HD with between 5-7 Mb bandwidth flawlessly upscaled on a 4k 49 inch TV with full Dolby multichannel sound. EFL (or their outsource company) really need to get their act together.

Worked pretty well in my last few countries and also here in Cyprus. It certainly isn't 'great' but better than nothing.

Have you tried this season whilst *cough* being out of the UK? Is Opera still the weapon of choice?

Just had confirmation that the Game WILL be available to me live video streaming, so no idea what the info re no matchday pass available on the website was about.

    Not yet, no.

I'm planning on being out of the country for the Bradford game, so I'll give it a try and report back. I never used opera... to fly... I used my own custom made... airline...

Google Chrome and Firefox is the two recommended browsers while using iFollow.

If I remember correctly, Firefox worked best for me last season.

But if you are actually in the UK Opera has a built in VPN Though I never actually tried it for iFollow but I have used it for other reasons it used to work really well on iPads but they discontinued the VPN and pointed you to a paid one.
