Find out who's profile has been used in the manufacture of their windows and I will
see if I can give you some advice based on personal experience. I used the buy window section, so know many of
the " scams" used in the industry. Golden rule is never ever buy cheap windows or DGU's.
I've just replaced all of our windows. I have had some really cheap frames removed that the previous owner had fitted
and replaced them with profile made by Veka/Halo. It's a Company based in Burnley and is an amalgamation of two
market leaders re- Smith/ Halo and Germany based Veka. Fitted by Dewsbury Glass Ltd they are guaranteed for
15 years. It took two men to lift them into place because they are fully reinforced with aluminium. A lot of the
cheaper makes have no reinforcement and some have more reconstituted regran than is permitted under British
Standards. Another question to establish is what are the front to back dimensions of the profile.

I'm also in the market for new windows, and i do believe that Euramax may well be the company that my secretary's husband sorts the measurements out for.

I'm due to sort my new windows out after my holiday.

But I'm lagered, may be wrong, and my secretary might not appreciate a weekend email.

However, if it is Euramax he works for, then they're massive. And Kev'll sort you out. No ********.

If you leave it with me, I can have a word on Monday.

    Just trying to help.......

Cheers mate much appreciated. It seems like they sell through Wickes if you want to fit them yourselves. The prices seemed reasonable plus I get 10% discount through wickes, so just wondered if anyone has had dealings with them. My main concern is reliability I have around 5 weeks to do a basic garage conversion and the Wickes website states 2 weeks delivery. If Kev could help that would be great, no probs if not.

Just texted her and got a response.

    It is Euramax.

You'll save a fair bit but get the same service by ringing 07815109314.

The employee gets a discount for you and an allowance for him......same company and product.

Just had a look at their web page ( copy below). They look to have all the right Industry accreditations.
If you look at the details at the bottom of their Home page the icon HAS tells me the profile being used
is Halo/Smith ( Veka) which from the research I did, was one of the very best quality brands on the market.
Given that information I would have no hesitation in buying any windows factored by that Company.
The difference between what I had ripped out and what I have had installed is amazing. The old opening
sashes were lightweight and on a couple of them , the gaskets had warped so they were draughty. When I close the
new ones they make a deep quality "clunking" sound and are perfectly sealed, plus every handle is keyed for extra
security. The other big plus is that every frame is internally glazed. The beads on my old windows were externally glazed
which meant that anyone could have prised them out, taken the glass out and gained entry to my property.

Sorry to say but you have misread the accreditations. It's not HAS, it's CHAS which is a Health and Safety compliance thing, https://www.chas.co.uk/ - nothing to do with window profiles.

Thanks for that HSH. You are correct. Might be worth checking who's profile is used DD.
I've attached details for VEKA/HALO. Give them a bell and ask for the approved Contractor
details in the South Yorkshire area. Worth trying to get a few quotes and ask for a cross section
sample of what is to be fitted. You might be surprised at the variations in quality.
