There was an attack by us at about 20 minutes in, and the Bradford fans were just sitting there applauding. It was brilliant to see. Their fans are brilliant. Makes such a change from some of the fans we come across in the Championship.
One of those match day vlogs like tykes TV but a Bradford one . Worth a watch . The comments section is very respectfull too......
I think you're spot on. They sort of looked in control between half time and our double substitution. But they didn't manage to turn it into a single shot on target. Although they did put in a couple of very dangerous crosses. Very much indeed like we had last season. Very frustrating as a supporter to see what is usually a lack of a final ball.
For a derby there was very little anymosity. The clubs aren't that dissimilar I think. Barnsley and Bradford aren't the richest areas. Both places are slightly overshadowed by a nearby larger city. Both stadiums have had a partial upgrade from their time in the top tier, making them a bit hotchpotch. I can definitely sympathise with such clubs. With their setup, I can see them going up to the Championship. They've made a lot of changes, so if not this year, then maybe next year.
I had subtitles on mine that had bulimia, prophecy and other ******** that wasn't mentioned. Seemed to talk sense though.
I think a lot stems from the game 3 or 4 seasons back when Barnsley fans walked to Bradford to raise money for the burns unit. It was the game closest to the date of the fire and there was a lot of emotion that day. Barnsley fans were impeccable in their behaviour during the presentations and the minutes silence and it was noted by the Bradford fans.
What do you mean DT ? , my memory was that a lot of their fans stayed behind at the end & shared our celebrations , also considering they were fighting against relegation they were very respectful , top fans
Yep, lots of them joined in with our celebrations and some ended up having a "quiet" beer in town that night. Magnanimous in defeat despite their relegation worries, they were genuinely pleased for us. As were the Oxford fans a week later when we put out a team of drunks!
A big factor is the pricing structure that has brought in lots of families. People with kids aren't priced out of watching games. They're not at Barnsley either, we've had very cheap season tickets for kids for a number of years. We're two family focused clubs and it makes for a safe and enjoyable experience. And anyone who went on Saturday will vouch for the fact that it was also a great atmosphere. The more people who attend, the more reasonable people you get, the nutters are diluted, and watching football becomes a great thing to do. Going to Bradford on Saturday was a joy.
I"m not sure about that , but I would not have been surprised if that happened , the City fans earned a lot of respect that day.
