Gets called up to the England squad at the expense of Sam Curran who has done no wrong in his two matches.

England selectors sending out a good message yet again.

Ridiculous innit.Still a mystery to me how he got off so easy.
I can imagine the verdict if it had been one of us in his position and it wouldn’t be any where not Guilty!

I’d argue Chris Woakes has taken Sam Currans place

Shocking decision. Kid was MOTM when he won us the first test. Third test comes along and he's dropped for a thug. They could have dropped overated Butler who's not a red ball cricketer.

So would I as both Stokes and Curran played in the first test - Woaks came in when stokes was ahem unavailable due to other commitments and has kept his place at the expense of Curran. Not sure I agree with the decision but you can hardly not pick Stokes because he was found not guilty of any offence

Exactly which is why the team should be unchanged. We just won a test by an innings, in so few overs it would have lasted two and a half days and someone gets dropped

It's a surprising call - Curran has taken to test cricket incredibly well both against Pakistan and India.

Regardless of the trial, Stokes was the guy out of the side who had to win his place back after the last test, and it's hard to argue that Woakes or Curran deserved to miss out. Buttler and Rashid (depending on the pitch) are probably the ones that should have been under threat before Curran.

Totally ignoring whether Stokes has damaged his stock as a cricketer, it's not a great message to send out that someone who's done as well as Curran coming into the side can lose his place so readily off the back of a comprehensive win.

I'd have let Stokes sit this one out.

They are killing the county game and will end up forcing young promising England cricketers abroad. Stinks.

Completely agree KFC. Buttler should sit out, absolute waste of a position in the team if he's not keeping wicket.

Buttler should have been dropped . He's a walking wicket in red ball .

Where else are they going to play red ball cricket between April and September?

Suspect there will be a few raised eyebrows when the umpire says “right arm over” when he comes on. And yes, Buttler should have been dropped to make way, but I’d agree he should have say this test out.

Can’t agree more mate. There was an abundance of posts on here after the outcome; attempting to use legal jargon in a way to defend him and defuse our cynicism- still doesn’t add up for me and to do this to other players says it all!

What I mean is that they will end up being fed up of the English county game because the.message they are sending out is "no matter how well you perform if tour face doesn't fit or if you aren't in our clique there is no chance of being picked"

Are you suggesting that a young cricketer might stop playing because he misses out on a England place now and again? Very bizarre if so

No..maybe I have not worded things very well but they must feel like "What's the point of doing well?" Where are the rewards?"
