What's the big issue with loan signings? If he can improve the squad and the deal works for both clubs then that's positive surely? We have had some garbage loans over the years but some that have come in and given everything for the shirt. Its a long season so it would be daft not to add a couple in positions we are short or to cover injury especially out wide where isgrove seems to spend most of his time in the treatment room.
Agree with that. Loans can be hit and miss but people have to remember that last time we were in this division we had Long, Brownhill and Fletcher who were absolutely fantastic and Isgrove who most people seemed to like too.
I think the problem is we have had some loans in recent times where a condition of the loan agreement is they have to play if fit -Ugbo and Williams and possibly Gardner last season. Kent and Armstrong the season before - it meant we had to keep playing them when we probably wouldnt had they been our own players - and thats never good If this guy is an attacking Midfielder who isnt match fit and we have to play him who would you drop from our starting lineup of the last 2 league games
Is it a fact that the players mentioned had to play or just something thats been said by people who dont really know?
Also McBurnie. If it’s delaying ,stifling , eliminating our own talent then it shouldn’t happen . We could end up with another Rigtas . I’ll leave it with the coaching team as to whether it’s worth the gamble as they’ll end up paying the price/reaping the rewards .
Obviously good luck to the lad if we sign him. Hope he has the impact of Fletcher, Brownhill and Isgrove from last L1 campaign However bit surprised. Thought the days of loaning unproven youngsters from premiership, or in this case Championship, teams was over. Could be a Harvey Barnes. Could be an Ike Ugbo. Remember all the people saying their “Chelsea supporting mate” believing he was better than Abraham. Truth is he’s an U23s kid, no preseason and absolutely no idea if he will cut it in Mr football. If he does we’ll spend 3 months getting him fit, one month him doing well, then back to Villa. If we signed loans would rather it was more proven players if they aren’t going to get games at their club. Such as Matty James when he came in. Ones that could both contribute to our team on the pitch, add some experience and leadership, and also help develop the youngsters.
It’s a fact for some our loanees in the past that the loan agreement had financial penalties if they don’t play. For certain Williams and Ugbo last season. It’s possible it was in McBurnies as well but that was never an issue
I thought it was just speculation. Where has it been determined as fact? I know there was something in the liverpool echo that suggesting Kent had a clause but cant recall with williams or ugbo. Didnt even think ugbo started that many games for us.
He seems ( O Hare) highly thought of and along with Moncur and Victor will come on as sub for one of the front four (potts Thiam Bradshaw Moore) or maybe rotation due to form, injury or suspension, it may be a reaction by stendel to the blackpool mstch and o hare doesn't seem a bad option and will improve what we have. Our u23s must not be ready yet. I would take one more loan a DCM as cover for Dougall.
Sounds like another Dan Crowley meant to be good enough but can’t force his way into the first team. I’m not overly enthused but then that’s because most loan signings tend to not work out except for the odd exceptions.
