https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/sack-collins-now-before-its-too-late-sack-him.928/ And I thought that Bradford would be a strong side this year and we beat one of the contenders. Maybe not....they have had an awful start.
To be honest , they had a good start , they won away at Shrewsbury on the first day , a team who just missed out last year on promotion but they have lost their next two league games . Here is the problem with a lot of fans today , there is absolutely no patience , they have lost two matches , thats all .
I was responding to the OP saying that they had a bad start to the season , they have a new manager & virtually new squad , my point is that they had a great start on the opening day & have since lost their next two games , do you think the new manager deserves a chance or should fans be pressing the panic button after two games ?
I can't imagine that they will have been overly impressed with the appointment of an untried academy coach in Collins. He might turn out to be a decent enough manager but I wouldn't have thought it likely that he will deliver anything this season. You wonder how many of those buying cheap season tickets are long term fans anyway. Their Premier League experience is not too far in the past so they probably expect to get back there some time soon.
The new manager deserves a chance but from the outside it looks like a bad appointment. Given their nosedive in form this year I can understand why their fans are starting to feel a bit disillusioned. We've been through it ourselves on more than one occasion in the recent past.
I know a fair few Bradford fans & they are not happy. Lack of firepower being the main worry. I think they will do well to be top half this season. They have lost their way badly. This division isn't a cake walk. Similar problems as Leeds have had in the championship, too much chopping & changing. Sacking another manager is unlikely to improve things. Glad we have a squad that has been with us for 12 months & a management team that looks to be making progress, despite this weekend's damp squib.
Very true what you say , but a new manager with new players probably deserve a bit of time & support , I think fans should give him more than two bad results before putting him under pressure , do you not agree ?
Yep. But if you're already unconvinced by an appointment it doesn't take much for you to be even less convinced. I will be very surprised if they are in the top third of the division.
To be honest , I do not know enough about their squad to make a judgement on where I would think they would end up this season but I believe that one of the reasons that Simon Grayson did not continue, was a problem over this seasons projected budget . Bradford have been highlighted by some as the model to emulate , with cheap season tickets bringing in big crowds , however everything in the garden does not appear to be rosy, which to me makes the new managers job even harder & the last thing he needs is fan pressure after only three games of the season which include a very good away win .
