I imagine that we are going to be bringing a striker in, but I would love to see moncur just playing off Moore in a free role. Just let him roam around between the lines get him on the ball between the defence and midfield and watch the damage he will cause teams!

No. At least not in this system. Moncur simply doesn't have the energy for 90 minutes of the level of intensity Stendel is after.

I don't think he would get enough goals to be able to hold down that position... I would like to see thiam centrally though feeding off of Moore's flick ons!

    In a word no.
Bradshaw has been good this season at running his knackers off for the team. If we get a striker in to replace Bradshaw he needs to do the same

No. He hasn't done it as a regular starter in over two years with us and despite a lower league this season looks more of the same. Need to try and flog him instead of releasing him next May.

    In this system. No.

If we can work it where he doesn’t have to do as much pressing and can focus on attacking more then yes it could work. That’s all upto Stendel though as at the minute Moncur won’t be able to fill Bradshaws boots in the current tactic.

I guess that’s a resounding no then haha! But I get what people are saying in this style of play we need someone to press and I do understand moncur probably wouldn’t keep that up, but it’s frustrating because I do believe he’s our most talented player but he just doesn’t fit in this system! It’s a gift that we can bring him on with half hour to go but I personally feel he’s just too good to be doing just that and looks likely to move on.

    No, no and thrice no.

Anyway, Stendel used Moore to great effect on Tuesday by playing him on the right in the first half and left in the second, whilst Bradshaw's work rate kept the centre halves occupied.

He doesn't fit any kind of system. He's got some ability no doubt but he isn't good enough to be as lazy as he is.

After his houdini act at Blackpool it's about time people faced the reality that he just doesn't have it in him at top level to succeed.

Undoubted ability, but I don't think anyone is too good when they don't have the effort. Those that are too good still pop up with moments of brilliance and magic even on a quiet day, but Moncur just contributes to inviting problems on to us when his head goes down and he doesn't fancy it.

    Sad but true.

I’d prefer to see him on the left/right drifting inside like Potts does. But again he’d need the work rate.

Might be a better option than Potts against teams that sit in and we need a bit more guile to break teams down though.

Not fit enough and not enough application. Great option from the bench. That’s it though.

To be fair the whole team disappeared in the second half, let's not single Moncur out especially as he scored a belter in the first half.

Moncur would be decent off Moore, but he isn't a like for like replacement. We'd still need a forward, imagine if Moore got injured...

There's disappearing in terms of having a bad game and there's disappearing where you have to question if they're on the pitch. The whole team didn't disappear they just got everything wrong, but in my opinion Moncur could have walked off the pitch and we'd have been no worse off.

It was a belter of a goal though.

We need two strikers now. Simple as.

Two diffrent types of players Bradshaw is a workhorse moncur isn't. Bradshaw will score tap ins and headers position himself in the right places moncur won't. It's a no from me.

It's not *that* bad a shout, although I'm not convinced Stendel would go that way.

On the upside Moncur playing just behind Moore is more his natural position. He's tricky, got good feet and is more likely to pick a pass, feed off Moore, bring others into play and go round people than Bradshaw is. He played that position for Colchester the season they were relegated and scored 12 goals.

On the downside you're going to lose some work rate and some presence in the air. That said there's no guarantee any replacement would be all the things we're looking for.
