Some of the reactions to us selling a pretty average player who ok works hard but is at the pinnacle of his level and clearly didn't want to be here. Near enough to doubling money on him. No sleep will be lost. Then laughing at nudger having a pop at the new regime demanding answers after a couple of days earlier him giving the new regime the big thumbs up, completely behind em... Couldn't make it up really.. Now can't wait to read all the threads if we ever lose a game this season...wouldn't have happened if we had kept bradders theme..
This has just popped up from the South Shields Gazette. Hope it's true. Good player young Conor. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/spor...ji-barnsley-want-portsmouth-striker-1-9315044
I’m not sure what more clarification some people are after here if I’m being honest. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realise we didn’t accept bids for him month ago because they weren’t high enough, now they’re at an acceptable level so that’s one point down. A lot can change in a few month in regards to pregnancy and the feelings within the couple. He wants to be back down south with his girlfriend and who can blame him for that? Family definitely comes first. Winkler has come out and confirmed we’ve got targets so we’ve just got to keep the faith and see. The time for talk is in a few weeks time when we have a clearer look on how Ganaye and the board have done in regards to replacing Bradshaw.
The truth is he's moving to a Championship club , probably on more money and a longer contract which I haven't got a problem with . Why use 'family reasons' as a lame excuse to move . He must have a bloody good agent to get him a move to the Championship because he simply isn't good enough for that league .Good luck to him anyway .
You thought you’d sneak that in without anyone noticing didn’t you? I also hope he’s fit, he’s been a big player for us in this early stage of the season.
The thing with Chaplin is why would Portsmouth let him go to a rival? And we need a direct replacement for Bradshaw, so why can’t this Chaplin get in the Portsmouth side? Admittedly I’ve never seen him so I don’t know much about him but it seems a bit weird.
Some fans just love a moan no matter how well we're doing. Win 3-0 shoulda been 4 etc. Let the guys get on with it and if we haven't got anyone by loan deadline day then have a moan if you want. Doubt very much the owners would want to pee the management off so early in the season especially after the good start we've had. If it's a million for a player in the last year of his contract who doesn't want to be here for what seems perfectly genuine family reasons then that's decent business to me. Wish him and his soon to be extended family well
I presume he must have strong family ties in the Barnsley area then? Really? Well, you wouldn't credit it !
I really wish there was a " this post is godlike" button 'cos i'd have pressed it. p.s. please ignore all rumours unless they are negative
No it’s good business to sell one of your only 2 senior strikers with no replacement lined up. We are being daft.
If the past owner had done this, 99% of this forum would be calling it financial prudence. Remember when we sold Winnall for ten bob and brought no one in? Let's see what happens in the next eight days.
I got told that Bradshaw was all set to sign a 3 year deal and Nudge went down to the ground to do a personal meet n greet with Tom.....and the rest they say....
Surely we had it in our powers to say ‘ok Tom if you want to go you can go, but you have your medical on Monday and play for us against Scunthorpe’. That’s the big I can’t get my head around. We’ve left ourselves low on strikers for this weekend when that could have easily been prevented.
Why do that when he cleary wants out? If he knew he was going Millwall on the Monday would he really give it his all for us on the Saturday? Also what sort of message would that send to our other players like Victor? If he wants to go and Millwall have offered a price the board are happy with, lets get him out as soon as we can and focus on preparing for the game without him and getting someone in to replace him as soon as we can.
Course he would give it his all. Absolutely no reason to believe he wouldn’t. Don’t think it send any kind of message out to Victor at all. Victor has been happy all season as far as I’m aware, why would getting one last game out of one of our main strikers upset him? Bizare point of view.
