I miss fish n chips, can`t get em here unless its pre battered and frozen with fries or oven chips. They never heard of mushy peas either.
My Mum and Stepdad owned Agnes Road chippy about 30 years ago, they sold it, now I think it`s a Chinese takeaway.

£5-85 for fish and chips at the Wetherby Whaler (the one actually in Wetherby) and top class, mushy peas around 80-90p per tub. Always a (bic) queue from about 6 - 8 p.m.

We like visiting Whitby. Whilst we are there a visit to Trenchers is a must.
Really large freshly caught fish and proper mushy peas and thick chips. Not cheap, but
real quality and well worth the brass. All washed down with a couple of pints of Peroni.

Fish and chips at 149 are the best in the UK! It’s on the road to Sewerby. Brilliant service, food portions and quality. Just a bit pricy, I think about £7-8 for fish chips and peas...

Surely that's best in the world then because I have never had Fish and Chips outside the UK that are even close to best you can get here.
Im up in Wombwell for the day tomorrow and will be heading to Tunstall Cross for sure - I think theirs take some beating especially for the price

George Eastwood’s from a hut halfway down birdwell. Fish 9d chips 3d and you can get one of those new fangled pickled eggs. At a shilling it’s a bit pricey though... oh and there’s a slight transport problem in that the 265 bus through birdwell doesn’t drop off in 1960s

I think they're cutting the chips too small there now.

I’d recommend the main fish and chips near the cricket ground... best around here for me.

I paid just over a fiver for a decent piece of fish, a half portion of chips and peas at that one right next to the ground. I thought it was excellent value because it was all hot and freshly cooked and REALLY tasty. My only problem was that the queue was so long that I had very little time to eat it all before kickoff
