That team should have been walking the league. I remember having a bet with a rovers fan we wouldn’t lose more than 3 games that season and we probably wouldn’t have if we didn’t have to endure that **** for 5 months.

We lost 10 on the trot in the league, which would have been eleven but for a last minute equaliser by Hourihane against the Blunts.

In the middle of that we also lost to Altrincham in the FA Cup but won a couple in the JPT. The run started in early October and ended in late November when we went bottom.

The current side versus the last one promoted would be 0-11. The current side versus the one that played the first five games of our promotion season and it would be around the same, but the other way.

That's when five of us, put £2 each on promotion, at 100 to one.

Great thread to read with tonnes of memories evoked. 2016 side was a joy to watch post Christmas and is probably only bettered by the 96 side.

Only Moore (over Fletcher) of the current crop would get into that 2016 side.

Saying that, this team has great potential, you could make a case for half a dozen of them playing at a higher level than us. Brad Potts will take this division by storm.
