When he went out of the window, was there some dramatic piano music and someone holding a sign up that said 'SMASH!!' ? Or am I getting confused with Charlie Chaplin?
A line from Ralph Mctell’s Streets of London. ‘Yesterday’s papers telling yesterday’s news’ Do keep up
I hope to goodness that we haven’t gone after this player. Because if we have then it reflects very very badly on Ganaye. If we can’t wrestle a player away from a debt ridden club like Coventry - then we are going to seriously struggle to recruit good players.
Even if we have gone for him, it doesn't reflect badly on the CEO. Just means that the player decided to join Coventry for what could be a million reasons. Was never bothered about this one, still would prefer the lad at Forest Green.
Pretty evident we plumped for Woodrow instead which nobody had any idea about til he was having his medical. Great business and kept under the radar. Long may it continue.
As Dragon said yesterday - the McBurnie debacle last summer went a long way towards costing us relegation - and I said on here at that time that it could do. I’m not saying Chaplin is as good as McBurnie - what I am saying is that the club fell short in signing a player that the manager was desperate for. And now we have speculation: We don’t know if we went for Chaplin. If we did - we don’t know how hard the club tried to sign him. If we did - we don’t know the reason he chose Coventry. Do you know why we don’t know ? Silence. The same silence after the McBurnie saga.
Why would we come out to say that we havent gone for a player??? Pretty sure that with the way things seem to be going at the club we are doing the business that we want in a manner that is working
