Just listened to his after match comments.
He needs to realise what the Barnsley supporters have been through over this last 10 years or so.
A roller coaster ride with very few ups.
So any nervousness is very much expected.
Personally I’m very nervous and have been for a while now.

Must admit I thought myself, during the match, it was surprisingly quiet in the Ponte today.

He's bang on though isn't he. It's a young team, they need encouragement when things aren't going their way. We'll come up against similar situations plenty of times this season - we all need to learn together. I'm sure it's going to be a really great journey.

I agree with him. There are too many moaning old ******** or people with hearts like peas in the crowd. I find it ironic that after hammering them like we did in the first half there were a few near me whose arse fell out after the first gillingham chance in the 2nd half whilst muttering to each other that the players need to calm down.
You wouldn’t want these folk in the trenches with you that’s for sure.

We said same. It's as if we're just expecting them to turn up and do the business at the moment.

The home crowd. Quick to criticise. We could have been out of sight, and let's give credit to opponents who didn't let their heads get down and fought back. We won the game and it might have been different. Let's get behind these young players - they will get better and have made a great start....there were some excellent moves in the first 65 minutes...

Agree credit to Gillingham. They were 2 down, being outplayed, lost their captain to injury and still gave it a right go. Shame they ended the match with 10 men once Conor Wilkinson came on. The bloke still can’t play football.

Sorry but there’s no fans favourites in the side. No one at the club can be complaining about the atmosphere when every time we get a fans favourite with a song he’s flogged.

The only one we’ve got is Moore & his got sang.

Hard to sing ‘come on you reds’ for 90 mins.

Sad but true. When Winall and Hourihane left we were stumped for songs.

Atmosphere at jokewell been piss poor for ten years plus. More rattling keyboards on here than rattles in stand. Its an embarrassment. Villa and sheff utd last season showed what support is at Oakwell volume wise.

Would that be the 6000 villa and sheff united away fans?

Comparing home and away fans doesn't really stack up mate. Our own fans sing their hearts out away from home, but not at Oakwell.

I go all over watching the reds, and lots of home crowds are similar.

4600 i think. And a good percent of those would be non singers. Our small band of singers are not up to it. Forget away matches oakwell is a morgue and a joke and u know it

I'm not saying it isn't. What I'm saying is most grounds are exactly the same.

Our fans have made more noise than the home fans in all our away games so far.

There will always be more noise from fans travelling away than they make at home. It's the outnumbered but proud and defiant feel to it.
The ONLY way to guarantee more noise at home for a run of the mill league game is unreserved seating in the Ponty which will allow those who enjoy making a lot of noise to congregate together.

What the **** is this thing with 'jokewell'? It's spelled Oakwell! Always has been. If you support the club then get behind them. The current hierarchy are by far the best we've had. Be proud of it!

Have to agree. If people like to stand in the Ponty End and chant and "sing" (for want of a better word) Fine. I have no problems with that. However, the majority of people who got to football matches - go to watch the game - it doesn't mean they are not supporting the team if they are not shouting things....Oakwell is a fine ground, and the club is ambitious for the future...support comes in different forms...

I’m in the West Stand and there was plenty of noise coming from the Ponti - and all parts of the Ponti.
And then the players stopped playing - and as a result the crowd stopped singing.

I’ve said this a few times on here - which comes first chicken or egg ???
    Singing or playing well ???
