Good gates against these and Wimbledon, who along with Plymouth will probably bring the least away fans
and the commentary said there was only around 200 away fans, so we had over 11k home fans. That's pretty good for this division.
259 away fans, and in fact Plymouth always travel in good numbers so they'll certainly bring a few hundred despite the distance Good club Plymouth, decent supporters
Plymouth have a large diaspora fan base. They are everywhere but their poor form might keep the numbers down this season
We've only played 3 to be fair. Some people are still on holiday or involved in cricket in the case of some I know. If we keep knocking at the door and the club puts on a few offers, the crowds will rise. Some of our fans won't know what to make of a start like this.
They do have a good following , however , it is asking a lot of their fans to make a 600 mile round trip for a mid week fixture , its a disgrace that this has been scheduled for a tuesday night , totally unfair on their fans .
Last time out in League 1 that would have been 9k. Edit: 8,354 last time we played them at Oakwell in 15/16
By my reckoning there have been over 11,000 home fans at each of our home games which is very good for league 1. We will need to keep winning to maintain this and hopefully increase the numbers watching.
I, and I imagine plenty of others, will probably get a half season/flexi ticket should they appear this season and if we carry on doing well. I didn't get a season ticket this year because I travelled up from Leicester to watch us win something like 3 home games in 17 months up to end of last season, and couldn't justify it again this year. Fickle yes, but I bet I'm not the only one feeling that way and there'll be fans actually based in and around town getting the itch again if we continue our good start. My point being we could be looking at 15,000+ regularly post Christmas provided the feel good factor remains.
I'd like to think you're right but I'd be amazed if we got anywhere near 15000 on any sort of regular basis after christmas. Can't remember it happening before in this league. Maybe 13000 occasionally. That being said the crowd figures are good this season. The regular posters on here are fairly entrenched in their outlook on BFC and maybe don't reflect a general feel among the wider fanbase that the new ownership can create something special which is bringing higher gates than expected.
I can't get to every game now with work so don't have a St anymore but with being on sick I've managed first 3,been paying £25 but yesterday £20 in family stand with my Son and Grandson £45 for all three of us, excellent value for money.
Yeah, this makes sense. In 1981/82, with that stellar Hunter side pushing for what is now the top of the Championship, we averaged 15000 including some decent away followings from Newcastle, Rotherham, Sheff W etc. I'm assuming a greater proportion of our support would be employed and the cost of football at the time would have been less of a drain on household income (Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong). So an average home support of around 11-11500 in effectively the third division, given the economic problems in our area, is excellent support and we're being treated to some good stuff.
Not a word I expected to see on the BBS. I suspect unless their form improves this month they won’t bring too many when they play us on a Tuesday night
