No adult home shirts, asked new 'manager' when new stock will arrive, his answer was I don't have a date , OK then I'll have a training top instead, no they a 'bespoke design' and no more of them will be coming in stock. Manager?? The words 'up' and 'brewery' come to mind!!

Went in pre game and thought it was poor. Too much free space due to so much being sold out. 11,000 home fans on a scorching day and barely anything short sleeved on sale. Didn't seem to have air conditioning either so it was good to get back outside for a cool down.

Unless you wanted goalkeeper socks, there was 9 million pairs of them that will still be on sale at the end of the 2021/22 season. If that's the best the new guy can come up with then seriously god help us!!

"Brewery" is obviously a word with which BFC are not familiar.

Given that nobody seemed to have bothered asking them to deliver anything but Carling and Fruit Carling to the ESL middle bar.

Truly shambolic. But we the fans will put up with anything.

I did wonder what the Fruit choice might taste like.....

Feel sorry for the staff who deserve better. Gotta be boring for them constantly not knowing when stuff will be around to sell and having to let fans down through no fault of their own. I'm sure they would prefer their shifts to involve more sales. Hopefully next summer we get the new replica kits on sale early June for holidays and fathers day and we make sure no new stock is sold out long term so early in the season.

That's the whole point we have employed a superstore 'manager' that has specific experience in this type of thing such as ordering the correct amount of stock and things that supporters want to buy. However, his response today of we wont be getting any more training shirts in store as they were ordered by the people in charge last season, and I don't have a clue when the replica shirts are coming into stock is pretty shambolic from a guy that is presumably on a higher wage than the other staff in there as he is 'in charge'. If we really need to cut costs surely to god the replica shirts and training shirts should come higher up the 'must have in stock' list than the goalkeeper socks, golf tees and car mats that ive never actually seen anybody buy!!

In fairness to the staff in there and particularly the manager, they were fantastic for me today. I went in to get two shirts named and numbered for my lad but due to being short staffed they explained that they weren't doing printing today. However, when I explained that I can only make match days, he said he'd do them and went to do them himself.

Has anyone thought that if he's the new manager, that orders may have been placed prior to him being in that role and it could actually be the suppliers that are not giving him a date for deliveries?

Nobody's perfect but in defence of the staff who work in the shop it's not their fault if they've sold out of particular sizes. It's like any retail business that goods are sold on a first come, first served basis. I don't know your financial or personal circumstances but maybe if you hadn't waited until the fifth week of the season, you may have actually got one in your size?

I was with you until that last sentence but 1) they were sold out in under a week and 2) five weeks into the season isn’t an acceptable time to be sold out, you make it sound like it’s five weeks before the end.

They had no shirts in stock in my size two weeks into the season. In your opinion would you say the club got it spot on and I, with my apparently really unusual 'large' man's body, left it too late and the club couldn't possibly have anticipated the demand?

They've had a problem with the stock that was delivered was my understanding and it had to be returned. There's little a new manager can do about this especially given the lead time on orders. I've no idea when that person started but the kit would have been ordered towards the beginning of this year.

I'm not saying the club got it spot on at all. In fact I think it was a total balls up that they didn't have stock prior to the open day and Father's Day. What I'm saying is that having a dig at the people who work in the shop is wrong. Obviously there's blame, possibly with whoever placed the initial orders but a large percentage probably lies with the suppliers.

I think commercially we have been poor for a a bit now.....I accept that stock will deplete and sell out. However I do struggle with not knowing when new stuff is coming in!....can't imagine, in today's retail customer efficient world...that happening too many places.
My own personal dealings with the shop staff....is they were first class and always very good with my requests.

Father's Day next year is June 16th. I would have the new home kit and all training gear on sale for Saturday 8th of June and move the beer festival we have in a couple of weeks, to that date. Then whilst enjoying the summery weather which stays light until after 10 pm, we can make lots of early shirt sales with thousands of fans down to enjoy a full day of entertainment. We can have the away shirt available for the open day activites. We'd make much more money releasing our new clothing on days when something else is happening at Oakwell to make a day of it.

What can't happen is what seems to happen every year, no matter who's in charge. Running out of stock and stuff being later on sale than they should be, aren't new issues.

I went in for a fixture list and was told there were none left. 3rd home game and that's it - all gone with no more to be had.

You never hear of Man City or Utd shirts being sold out. Youre always guaranteed all sizes of shirts walking through any town/city.
Can you imagine the Sun headlines??

Sports direct are t gonna order mass copies of our shirts though.
A better comparison is needed methinks.
I’m with you on the principle of being sold out though

They always seem to get their orders spot on for clubs they arent even affiliated with. BFC ought to know what to do by now, theyve been a club for 130 year. They should know by now that tarn fans are more keen on wearing a footy shirt than GK socks.
