O/T Reliable taxi service for older people

    I have an elderly relative who is extremely independent. Still driving. I'm wanting to encourage her to use taxis instead.
    Any suggestions on a company that will offer that bit of extra care to and from the door, and take regular weekly bookings? Need someone reliable and personable, not just a switchboard.

    Can recommend dial a ride because I work as a driver for door 2 door.Service cheaper than taxis but you need to register if you phone 01226 732096 as ask them to post you a registration form out fill everything out and sign and post back usually takes 7 working days to set up we are part of the transport executive and are all dbs checked

    I am a taxi driver in Bansley ALL taxi drivers in Barnsley are DBS checked thier vehicles are MOT`ed and all are insured at great expense
    it all depends om what you are asking the taxi driver/company to do regards your Mum if its trips to bingo /shopping hsopital etc
    then the larger companies IE Blueline, City can not and will not send the same driver its virtually impossible to do this, having a word with a rank driver IE Dick of the rank you can and will get that personal service with the same service the only time this fails is if they get a better fare in at the same time.The dial a ride is a good way of getting about too.

    Thanks all. Biggest difficulty is that she can no longer make phone calls efficiently due to deafness and simply doesn’t use technology. She’s 98.
