...for Birmingham for ignoring their transfer embargo. It was put in place at the end of last season for breaking FFP rules. Surely a points deduction would have been the most appropriate penalty to start with.
Just read the same....blues fans blaming rednapp...nothing to do with new owners blah blah blah.!!..throw the book at em I say
Someone summed it up succinctly on Twitter. "Crazy that the teams that cheat stay up and the teams that don’t go down".
Awful authorities. If to be cheating rules points off should of been end of last season. Reds stop up. But cart morais off still. Stendels red and white army
The cheats should be punished in a way that hurts them. They obtained more points by breaking the rules so a points deduction would have been appropriate - fining them was poor & they have shown their contempt for the league by ignoring the embargo (by the sound of it). If the league deduct points now, they'll not help the clubs who lost out by their cheating (eg us) - not sure what else the league can do now but don't beggar it up next time
How can you ignore an embargo? When Birmingham send in paperwork for a signing why are the fa ratifying it and giving it the green light?
Wishful thinking for them to be punished for last season when they broke the rules this summer when we'd moved on to next season.
Qpr same fined40 million quid but paying it back over 10 years its ridiculous. Villa same nearly went bust this summer Yet they pinched more players last season with money they dint have.
Yeah but the FA for a first offence are never going to go straight for a points deduction. Even now for a second offence I don't think they have the balls for it, even though they should.
F.A. Corrupt as F**k when it comes to the Rich clubs never a level playing field for the smaller clubs..!!
When a club has spent more money than they are allowed to, it's perverse that they are allowed to resolve it by throwing yet more money at it, in the shape of a fine. They gained an unfair advantage by cheating last season and should have had some of their points taken away. It would have been the most appropriate punishment.
No matter where they finish this season they should be relegated...3 down plus Birmingham giving bsly their place next season along with 3 more from league 1to go up ... they should then pay bsly the lost revenue that relegation cost us ( supposedly 6mil )...then be hit with a fine for cheating... harsh ..but its the only way to stop others from cheating ...also should carry automatic 12 PTS reduction at start of next season in league 1 ....it won't happen those in power are frightened of making a stance xx
Frightening stuff if you are a Birmingham fan Is there any football club that Redknapp can’t destroy?
5 months. The spike in wages and consequently debt coincides with that period. Players were signed on lengthy expensive contracts. (Marc Roberts 5 years at 20k for a week for example comes in at 2 million quid so far and 5 over the length of his contract). Same pattern at Portsmouth and Southampton. He doesn’t need long to screw you over.
No the finance people at Birmingham who sanctioned his idiocy bear most of the blame. Bournemouth / Portsmouth / Southampton / Birmingham all hit financial trouble after Harry managed them. Would you say that was jut random coincidence?
