Great fun, the dogs are ridiculously fast. Seemed totally random to me but I'm sure it's not. Lots of shady looking characters around. Enjoy!
Do some stretches first, try to get a few practice starts in, go for it as soon as the hare moves and try to get on the inside as soon as possible. In all honesty you've probably got no chance of coming first if you haven't raced before but good luck anyway.
I went with the dog that had the biggest crap just before the race. You can bet on the tote or track side, the odds seem all over the place though. Putting 50p on the first 3 was fun, won £120 on a race
I’ve been a handfull of times and twice spotted a guy trackside in an illuminous yellow construction jacket indicting to a guy in the viewing area above which dog to back. Clicked on after a couple of races he predicted the winners so followed his tips on the rest. Won more than we lost. Keep an eye out for him Roast pork sarnies weren’t bad either.
That sounds like an absolutely fail-safe system, brilliant! Did it work? Did you place the first three all in descending turd-size order?
We did a lot of work at a Greyhound Stadium in the 1980's and got to know the staff really well....I went to a meeting and really enjoyed it, but lost....the next time I was in I asked the chap who trained the tracks own dogs if he had any good tips , he said his best tip was to never bet on dog racing
I concur about the roast pork sarnies with a bit of gravy and stuffing in them, they are really good. Hope you've online betting accounts as min bet with on course bookies is a fiver, so with about dozen races it can be an expensive night.
Off topic slightly but many moons ago an ex girlfriends uncle use to race pigeons and she once asked him how they knew where to turn around.
it's all fixed mate . £1 on the favourite , £2 on the second favourite every race . it'll pay for your beer .
Anybody know what the Kinsley stadium is like? Sister in law has booked there for a birthday meal and night out next week. I said we should've gone to Owlerton but Kinsley is closer for them.
