with the style of play attacking and closing their players down it saps our strength.
This is why we start fading away
Our manager has to start subbing one or two in midfield or defence to re vitalise it
We were playing a good team today and it is the measure of how good this team is.
They had their chances but we should have been home and dry if we had just studied a little before wasting gilt edgechances

The fitness needed to play this high press game is immense. I think we are maybe not quite at full fitness, well certain players for sure. We will get there. We have players to come back and should make a plan B for when the fatigue kicks in.

I agree , this side is good. What I am stating is the rate of work they put in tires them
This is why we fade a little

Thought we finished stronger than them. Could and should’ve been out of sight, again

Weird thread considering we played much better second half.

We didn’t take one of the 3 massive chances and it allowed them back into the game.

The team doing the pressing int first haif was Walsall we seem to miss Bradshaw alongside Moore for pressing although Vic did alreight at it when he came on.

Bear in mind the was DS’s 7th game. He has to get a feel for, not only English football but the ale house division he finds himself in.
To my mind, so far so good

Thought Moncur had a good game today, shame he didn't quite get the pass right to Moore when he ran over half the pitch in the 86th minute.

Another day we win that 3-0 or 3-1. As frustrating as it is, I don't think that's a bad outcome. Grounding for our players and fans, and without our arguably our key player and first choice keeper.

We were far far better second half once that waste of space flock of seagulls 80s throwback was subbed. I thought we didn’t press at all first half. Should have had 2 goals in last 20 minutes and then just switched off. Didn’t see anyone fading personally. Not even Moncur.

Bad game to state this opinion about really I thought we were much better second half.

I’m not sure it was fatigue that cost us the goal but more naivety, we were constantly pushing for the second goal and it was leaving us exposed at the back at times. Something I think Dougall would have counteracted well by organising the players more.

Just is what it is. If Victor had scored that glorious opportunity, if Thiam didn’t smash it up towards town hall or if Moncur had decided to cross or shoot instead of doing neither then we would’ve been 2-0 and the game would have effectively been over.

Thought our crossing was abysmal today and has been for a few games.Rarely find a red shirt.

We didnt play at our best today and missed potts and dougall but were still far better than walsall. With Bahre to settle in and woodrow to come in got to be happy.

Think you have to also consider at Liverpool they play similar style and they can’t maintain for 90 minutes either. I think what we need to learn is game management, knowing how to take a break whilst still controlling the game

Agree with that. Its a style we've played for 9 games with players who've never played it. I'm seriously impressed with how we're doing with so many factors that may suggest we should be doing otherwise. Give this team a season together.... I think we may find a few changes as the season wears on and maybe see more of people like Hedges and Woodrow. If we can get into a pattern of press, win, attack at pace, and inbetween control the ball and tire out opponents... that could be frightening good.
