The team may as well stay at home then as there is very little or no chance of getting anything out of this game. Worst referee I have ever seen, and over the last 2 seasons there has been some real dross refereeing at Oakwell, but nothing compares to Trevor Kettle!
Where you seen that as the EFL haven't put the officials for this weekend on their own website yet..... https://www.efl.com/clubs-and-competitions/match-officials/referee-appointments/
Be horrible if our unbeaten start came to an end as a result of yet another of Kettle’s controversial and/ or incompetent horror shows.
Would have thought the EFL website would be the first place EFL officials would be announced. Hopefully it's wrong.
18 yellows and a red in just five league games this season..... http://www.soccerbase.com/referees/referee.sd?referee_id=833 Ref Saturday was getting bashed on here but at least he took conditions into consideration to let the game flow and didn't book any of our lads. Not expecting the same with Kettle.
Even if you ignore his two cup games to try to make him look worse he's given out lower than the average number of cards per game. Include the cup games and it is far far lower than average. Kettles actual stats: 19 yellow 1 red in 7 games Craig hicks: 25 yellow 1 red in 7 games
I don’t think that it always follows that so-called card happy refs have worse games or are poorer referees than the more lenient refs. It’s the consistently controversial ones such as Kettle that should be weeded out. If indeed, he is the ref on Saturday, I truly hope he bucks the trend and if we lose it’s not because of a refereeing controversy
If we create chances like we have in last 4 games then the result should have nothing to do with the referee poor finishing has dropped us points so far. Yes the officials have been poor but nearly 90 shots in 4 games and 2 draws + a win by a gold margin the only thing missing from the impressive start is to be more clinical.
If Potts reaches boiling point and starts letting off steam Kettle will be whistling and it’ll be out of the Fryers pan and into the fire for us.
Was it not Mr Kettle who blew the whistle for half time in a match last year just as the ball was about to cross the line for a goal & consequently disallowed it , you couldn"t make it up .
Accrington Stanley 15/16 season. He blew the whistle after the keeper dove (dived?) just after the ball went passed him
