Says he's absolutely relishing playing under Stendel and although talks haven't yet started, regarding an extended contract, he would love to stay at Oakwell.
Home made or shop bought . I cannot find one to match my Grandmother/Mothers recipe . Which I don't have .
It says “talks” doesn’t it? An initial contract could’ve been offered recently but some details will need to be discussed. Or I could be wrong and we might not have offered any contracts yet.
It’s not how Barnsley do it we wait till Last minute then they end going leaving us up **** creek ala hourihane and sammy the snake
Been much improved this season, thinks he's a very good League 1 player, all depends if he can do it in the Championship like he did in his early days with Leeds.
To be fair i bet he's played max 20 games for us during that time. Still only 23 so time to develop into a top championship player. Hope we have something sorted by christmas.
Footballers generally go to the club that offer them the most money. So I guess it all depends on that.
He's played well this season. He was rubbish prior to us sending him out on loan. I can't give an opinion on how he played at Oxford as I didn't see him, but the from what I've read he was 'alright'... at best. Perfectly understandable if we haven't offered him a new contract yet.
It's helped him a lot playing in a settled side with 2 players in the middle who have been superb. Potts covers a lot of ground and has been good on the ball and dougalls positioning and ability to retain the ball has been impressive. Problem last season was changing the team every week and chucking together 16 new inexperienced players at the start of the season a recipe for disaster along with our appointment in Jan. Fair play to Mowatt he's improved his fitness and looks better week on week and we're finally seeing the player we though we'd signed 2 seasons ago.
This. When fans stop seeing players as people who give a sh*t we might be better off. With the very very odd exception of course.
Tbf I always had the impression that Hecky was never that keen on him even when he signed him, but yeah absolutely I think our other two main midfielders have helped up his game by being strong where he is weak and vice versa, don't think hes as much a complete midfielder as we had 2 seasons ago but he's looked 100 times better than he did in the 7 months before his loan to Oxford
Agree the other 2 complement his weaknesses and allow him to be good at what he's good at. He's never going to be a wide player no be in a 2 man midfield but in a 3 in the middle he can shine with the correct combination of players which is what we now have a very good balance. He'll start chipping in with goals aswell I'm sure of it and when he got Leeds fans player of the year I believe it was in a similar role as he's in now.
Hourihane was class for a vast period and in the league above. Mowatt struggled in this league last season and has done OK for us so far but still early days and he needs to score more. No need for us to rush a contract.
