Did mine last week. £99 to repair or £96 to pay up contract and get a new one... Being tight I'm making do as long as it still works - at least it might take my fingerprints off just in case I decide to go on a crime spree...
Did the same. The guy I know in the shop stuck a clear plate on it for a tenner to stop it chipping further and to keep it watertight,
Dropped an iPhone down the toilet a few years ago. Despite lots of "tips" on how to dry it out, restore it etc none of it worked and I had to go to Milton Keynes (40 miles away) to get a new one. They charged me about £175 which is a lot less than I was expecting. I'm doubly careful near any source of water now
Ouch - can't believe how much they cost to get it replaced. Took out the insurance for mine for that reason - have a look at protect my bubble . Might be worth it just in case - I know it won't ease the pain now :-(
Phone insurance is a bit of a risk in itself though. For a s8+ protect my bubble charge £10 a month and £75 excess so if you only damage your screen once over a contract you don't save any money taking out insurance, if you don't claim you've lost quite a bit. You only save money from your second claim on really
All forms of insurance have a risk factor - do I usually have 250 pound spare to get a phone fixed - no. I actually damaged my last one three times so it did save me money hence me getting it on this one!
