Can't understand that bit myself. Maybe the police are still gathering evidence to charge one of them accordingly for the poor woman's death?

I don't get why that would take them so long. There is clear video of one of them driving, video of them running from the scene video of how badly the lorry was being driven etc and yet not even a mention of any of that

On a related note it doesn't look good for the police that allegedly several people had reported the lorry driving dangerously for hours before the incident and nothing was done

Having watched a lot of these late night police documentaries, they often don't charge anyone after a decamp, when they can't work out who the driver was. I don't know if this is the case here.

It will be the cps who would have decided not enough evidence to charge any of the despicable individuals with death by dangerous driving
Allegedly one of the people involved has already killed someone by dangerous driving

Surely the police can get fingerprint evidence off the steering wheel?

Good idea, I bet the police hadn’t thought of that.

Were living in a almost lawless society. The only thing thats stopping us from a complete one is the morals of enough good people. Crime is rocketing and the perpetrators know they have a very good chance of getting away with it and if they are caught, not a great deal happens. Worst ive ever known it. Vigilantism will be next and possibly the only solution, in this case, if that was my mum being tragically killed, its the route id go down. The sense of injustice would kill me too otherwise.

Austerity has a lot to answer for it has created victims across a wide spectrum of public services and policing law and order and detention of perpetrators is way up the list .
Whatever the govt at the time we’re thinking is anybody’s guess but they should be made accountable along with the present and future govts.
The way crime has esculated especially violent crime is frightening and our answer is to put part time powerless officers which criminals scoff at .
RIP to the lady who has died because of These reckless thugs and I hope real justice is done and been seen to be done

Probably not due to the porous surface of the steering wheel. DNA on the other hand is more likely from sweat, etc.

Is there such a thing as joint guilt for these kinds of offences - like when someone is killed in the course of a burglary?

Should try living in Huddersfield. Check The Huddersfield Examiner website....

Just a few from the past week. Every front page lately seems to be shooting, stabbing or rape. Their Facebook page is full of worried people. Some saying it's a no go town after dark. Police cuts by the current government have been savage and with police overstretched, people think they have more chance of getting away with criminal behaviour.

There is a video of the lorry driving. The one driving is the one in the drivers seat on the video.

I haven't seen the video of the person driving the lorry so don't know the quality of the face picture ect. But I'd imagine they would be gathering more evidence like already said finger prints on the steering wheel and drivers door and forensic of the cabin. I'd imagine the evidence gathered and the driver will be re arrested.
