Fantastic evening listening to him speak. Hugely impressive effort to communicate in a language that he's still learning. His presentation to the Supporters Trust must have lasted close to an hour, along with an interesting Q&A.

Thanks to him, GG and Andreas Winkler for giving up their time.

The way he communicates considering he’s still learning the language is very impressive. He’s energetic and you can feel the positivity oozing out of him, I bet the players would follow him into war right now. Comes across as a funny man as well, humorous.

I think he mentioned that he’s wanting to change that members of the public cant come watch them train. He also said jokingly that they actually do train set pieces as well believe it or not.

There was a funny moment which I think was caused by a translation error where someone asked “who of the current squad plays in the role Stendel played in when he was a footballer” and I didn’t quite hear but I think he said Bradshaw? To which Winkler told him we had sold him! Cue laughter all around.

Stendel really rates Pinnock, says he’s good at helping other teammates in the game and he’s good defensively. Interestingly he mentioned Jackson before mentioning Liam Lindsay in another section, might be a clue that Jacko might get a chance soon?

His motto near enough is “We decide the final result” and by that he means if we create more chances then the opposition then it’s in our hands if we win or not. So that then obviously plays into how he sets his team up with the fast, high pressing style and attacking play.

He also said Woodrow is still injured and hopefully will be back within 2 week. He’s wanting more players to chip in scoring rather then just Moore and he’s hoping Woodrow will take some of the burden off Kieffer when he returns.

Cheers for that. Did Ganaye say some interesting bits?

Not much really from Ganaye, talked about the process in hiring Stendel which was first identifying the style of play they want to see and then getting the coach in to suit that.

I think he mentioned something about ongoing improvements around the ground, always looking at ways to make Oakwell a better stadium but it can’t all be done at once.

Think that’s about it from him.

Cheers for that. Will have to wait for the state of the art new West Stand with balconies for corporate boxes, better press area, a roof that reaches the gravel track, no restricted viewing, leg room and the teams coming back out there instead of by the away fans.

Did anyone ask if Woodrow was injured when we signed him? As per the reports of doing is Hamstring at the medical.

Why do you have to post the same constant drivel on what is supposed to be a positive thread about our manager though?

Its like being waterboarded by umpa lumpas and we all know how annoying those little cnuts are.

Find it very odd the rumour was going round on the day then he gets injured a few days later training. If I had to guess I would say the club are trying to save face following the sale of Bradsahw a injured replacement and the Chaplin deal not happening. All leaving us very short and a drop off in form that has followed.
That is of course just my take on it. I could be talking nonsense.

Or he could have just got injured in training 2 days after signing...

Injured in his very first training session by all accounts. Not injured when he passed his medical or when we announced the signing.

I suspect you are right. Too much of a co-incidence.

That said I'd rather we get him right. Sounds like a good prospect & if Potts is back on Saturday we should be OK.

Could have that's why I ended with I could be talking nonsense. Coincidences do happen. If that's the case then the real problem was the Chaplin deal not coming off. We were a striker short before Bradshaw left and this highlights it.

Yep you did finish with I could be talking nonsense but you started it by just making stuff up based on huge assumptions.

You’ve just made something up that you don’t know is anywhere near a fact and just because you finish it off with ‘could be boll0cks’ doesn’t mean it’s unfair to say. That’s how rumours start, which can be pretty unhealthy.

My interpretation was that Stendel was asking Winkler what the English for 'we sold him' was, but it sounded like he was trying to say a player's name and that was Winkler's reply. Still funny though. Incredibly clever and engaging pair, and you're right I can't imagine not wanting to play for this team. The key to maintaining that feeling is winning on the pitch though, which Stendel was keen to point out.

You're reading too much in to the Lindsay/Jacko comment as he also referred to Lindsey numerous times throughout his presentation and never mentioned Pinnock again. When someone is doing such a good job to speak in a new language it probably isn't worth trying to find any hindsight or slips.

Last night was brilliant and proved what most people already know - the majority of football fans haven't a clue when it comes to football at that level of detail. Credit to the club for agreeing to share that.

Just have my view, someone did start a rumour he was injured the day we signed him accompanied with a picture of him at Oakwell holding his Hamstring. Then he is injured a few days later.
Either way it doesn't really matter, we have left ourselves very short in certain areas and injuries will happen. If Moore were to get injured now we would be screwed big time. We have 2 wingers both were injured before the season started and no cover.
