Come on reds, send a few ££ each. We'll not see ANYTHING hit the target at Oakwell all season in such an important way like that pilot did today.
I make a monthly donation to the air ambulance down here... The service is vital down here , as it is anywhere really. I find it totally hard to comprehend that the Air ambulance service, the R.N.L.I. and the various Mountain rescue services are funded totally by donations.... surely these vital services should receive at least some partial funding from the Govt funds.
I agree. As one of the ‘Enrichment Week’ activities at my school some of the kids had a talk and activity led by a mountain rescue guy with his dogs. He was a volunteer and had to pay for all of his own training and dogs’ upkeep. He is regularly sent all around the country to do search and rescue (he has to fund his own petrol costs too). Incredibly selfless man and the kids couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t be paid for such an important role.
Exactly what i keep saying, i can't for the life of me understand how the UK can give BILLIONS of pounds away and cut service's here and like you say the above vital services are CHARITY 'S.
They charge 1.25% card processing + 5% (including gift aid) in fees https://www.justgiving.com/info/fees https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/charity-fundraising-sites/
I give to the Air Ambulance one of my three favourite charities, no way would i give to any that take 5% or any percentage.
I do an annual air ambulance fund raiser. Anyone interested in doing one at Oakwell? DJ set of 80's / 90's alternative / indie / tamla / ska & punk
Yorkshire Ambulance Service also have a charity which invests a lot in teaching people CPR and community defibs. Coincidently they were there today demonstrating CPR in the East Stand. Their website is www.yascharity.org.uk containing more info and how to donate.
Fantastic charity. Took my sister to Leeds after a nasty car accident on the A1 (was on helicopter heroes) and came to assistance of a close friend who sadly died. Shouldn't have to be funded by donations, one of my biggest pet hates.
Just made a donation myself. After witnessing the events this afternoon that’s the least we can all do. I fabulous response from all concerned. Let’s hope for a quick recovery.
Sounds abit radical or even racial, but why don’t we stop sending aid to India/Pakistan and fund our own air ambulance? Or even the £350million we give to the EU could go towards it after brexit(I know we get half of it back).
I can only agree with you here JP. The club/new owners could make a donation or do a charity fund raiser.
