JP it was a poorly worded post but not meant as it came across, social media stinks sometimes and abuse should never be tolerated. I have blocked/ignored a few on here and it has improved my viewing of this board, I like JPs threads and posts generally and as others have said it would be a shame to lose a long time good poster, this forum is part of my daily routine even though I have a busy life with work, family, friends, football and my dog so don't pack it in over a few just block em.
Me too. I just assumed it was typed under the influence. I was a bit surprised at the backlash, but perhaps we were all feeling a bit fed-up after yesterday's events.
I've been called a "causal racist", a certain person demanded I apologised to another because I didn't want to blow smoke up a certain managers arse, and I've had loads of spats with other posters. I've sometimes felt like stopping posting, and sometimes have had a break, but I'd never make a point of telling people I was leaving. I'm far too stubborn for that. Do that and you've given them the upper ground. Best thing you can do is leave that to yesterday. It'll blow over and be forgotten in no time - buried under an avalanche of similar petty arguments and general silliness.
Not at all. Just pointing out that I wasn’t surprised that people had jumped on him, especially on a day which had been heavily emotional. I’m not justifying any abuse he got either. Just that it wasn’t a shock to me that it happened. As I say I haven’t read all of that thread, I’m away in Spain and dipping in and out of signal and so the forum. I wouldn’t have bothered at all if I’d not heard what had gone on yesterday. For what it’s worth I think he was extremely crass but doesn’t need to be leaving the forum.
I should hope so. A worse piece of virtue signalling, hystetically over the top, completely lacking in proportion nonsense I have yet to read.
