I'm Stephens brother,I don't post on here very often but I do read it.First of all I would just like to say a big thankyou for all the kind messages we've received on here and for your understanding and respect, we have been really humbled by them all and it has given us some comfort at this difficult time.
I guess a lot of you have read the statement we asked the club to put out so I've nothing much more to add to that.just to say we could not have asked for anything more to be done for my brother pitchside,by the time I got to my brother from my seat in the East Stand lower ,the medical people had already revived him but he was very weak, the doctors had already decided that the Air Ambulance was the best option.
I would like to explain about the Ambulance situation as I was told,I know someone was saying about how long it took to get there, well apparantly when the Air Ambulance is called there always has to be a land Ambulance on standby in case anything happens to the helicopter. There was an Ambulance at Oakwell cos a game cannot take place unless an ambulance is on stanby at the time the air Ambulance was called the game hadn't been postponed so another ambulance had to be called in case one ambulance had to go and the game went ahead.every bit of medical equipment that was needed was already pitchside .i cannot praise everybody concerned enough.
As for Stephen he was put in an induced Coma pitchside by the air ambulance crew ,he is still sedated in the Northern General Hospital,He his poorly but stable, the doctors are happy with how things are at the moment,we are hopeful of a good recovery but we will know more in a few days.I hope you don't mind me giving this update and thankyou all again

Thanks for the update M16. Thank goodness that people with the necessary expertise were on hand
to give Stephen the treatment he required. I'm sure all Red's fans will join me in
wishing that Stephen makes a full recovery and is able to get down to Oakwell as
soon as possible. Best wishes go to you and all your family. It's a difficult time for you
all, but please take comfort that our thoughts and prayers are with Stephen and yourselves.

Thanks for the update. Please take my best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery to Steve and my regards to the whole family. It is difficult enough for this to happen in private, but for it to happen in the public eye must have made it even more difficult for you all.

Thank you for the update M16.

I first met Stephen many years ago, probably almost twenty, when he was involved in the 50-50 scheme for the junior supporters. The way he looked after my nephew and niece was second to none and I cannot thank him enough. He became a good friend.

Players and managers come and go but it is the people behind the scenes, the tea lady, the girls in the ticket office taking abuse day in day out and volunteer's such as Stephen that are the life and soul of our club.

Stephen is a true gentleman and great ambassador to our club and from all the Harrogate Reds, we wish him a speedy recovery.
