The show last night was full of people on the subject. Someone said clubs should sell tickets at the back for those who want to stand and people who want to sit sell them the front tickets, clearly blanking that standing up is against the law at football. Someone else said away ends should be unreserved seating so all those that want to stand can stand together. Again ignoring the law at football matches. Even if it wasn't the law you'd have to trust people to stick to their seat for the whole game and not change seats at say half time, resulting in what I have seen at Oakwell many times with people saying someone is in their seat because whilst they have been for food or the toilet, someone has switched seats.
Some complete arseholes at Bradford, right at the front, telling people to fvck off when they were shouted at to sit down. Stood up all match. Old enough to know better too. I've paid to watch the game, you cvnts, not stare at your back all afternoon. They should be kicked out, but I'd not want to do it if I were a steward on a crap wage.
It just plain ignorance when people stand constantly blocking the view of others.... Nobody minds getting up for corners or when we are attacking but standing constantly in an all seater stadium in front of others isn't fair....
I know we’ve done this pretty much to death before, but I can’t help thinking it’s symptamatic of today’s society, ie I want to do this so anybody vulnerable or elderly fk you I don’t give a ****.
Police should be removing them all for anti social behaviour and breaking the law. Stewards shouldn't have to get involved.
This problem has been well documented before A lot of fans cannot stand for 90 minutes to watch a game , I for one. I have never been one to keep my mouth shut so have had various run ins with the stand up in front of you pillocks The tirade you get from them shows their intelligence. They do not care a toss and I think they do it to cause a confrontation Every time a ball is kicked near towards goal they are up. Why, they would see just as much sat I gave up going to away matches. There were some staunch real fans but a hell of a lot of top class idiots who were pissed up before kick off, and to be honest were only there for a piss up. Apologies to the true fans which I knew but this is how the game is. They are breaking the law but how can a club cater for that many who do it.
Complete bellendz i missed Bradshaw goal at Bradford through a clart ead standing up first signs of a cross going in.
They should monitor seats where people are standing and refuse them tickets for next match that has limited allocation choose how many stubs / bjackies eggs they have imo
The Police don't give a **** if you've been burgled nowadays. Can't see them doing anything for some bloke standing up.
I prefer to stand. At Oakwell my seat is on the back row so I am afforded this luxury at no harm to anyone else. Away from home I go with the flow. So if those in front of me are stood I also stand so i can see. I don't ask them to sit as it doesn't bother me. Then of course some behind me may not be able to see so it is a problem. I have then asked for people to sit on occasion, maybe I am part of the problem?
Most of these pillocks don't sit in seats allocated they just congregate wherever they prefer. Usually near front to piss off true fans
just a point. Does this maybe point to giving the safe standing seats a go. From what I have seen about them they allow safe standing and yet allow a sitting bar/seat that still allows a view over the standers in front of you. They seem to answer the problems. If I am wrong here then so be it, just going on the photo's and reports I have seen on this system.
Not really a problem of your own making though. The problem is the thoughtlessness of those in front of you, causing you to also stand, coupled with the inability of club to enforce stadium rules.
I reckon some are just trying to make a point with the standing. Most won't remember life before all seaters. If it became all standing, some of the buggers would want to sit down, or bring back smoking, drinking and wearing flares
True enough, I don't mind sitting just given the choice i prefer to stand. The point is it needs to be enforced from the front as you say.
